Trade my 2021 Premium on a 2022 GT/PE now or wait to see what's new in 2023?

Dealer is going to give me more than what I paid for my 21 4X Premium on a 2022 GT/PE.

Plus I can still get the government rebate if I do it now.

Thoughts? Am I crazy for doing this now?

Edit - Dealer is giving me about $2k less than what I paid for it. I had the numbers wrong in my head.

Consider Ford delivering 15-20k units in Q3, which means Q4 will be the last year for a full tax credit. Not saying this WILL happen, but it's a possibility.

We also have no idea on what 2023 pricing will open with so consider getting the best deal now, while you can.

You are not crazy, the 2023 Mach-E is unlikely to have any big changes.

If the other deal points are good, like the dealer isn’t lowballing your trade in and no (or little) mark up, I think you should go for it.

Does the dealer have a 2022 GTPE available without a steep ADM?

Dealer is giving me it at A/Z plan, no ADM. $72,975 sticker, $70,375 A/Z Plan.

Offered me $52k for my 19,000 mile Premium over the phone. I have $3k in PPF, so hoping I get a little more on the trade. Will be two $7,500 gov't rebates....

I don't see the Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries that potentially will be in the 2023 actually getting to the GT's. More for the entry cars.

Potentially google sync 5?? But will definitely miss out on the $7,500 if I wait.

Heading out there in a few hours to look at it and make the decision.

Thanks for the input!

If a GTPE is available at below MSRP and you'll get more than what you paid for the Premium, it seems like a no-brainer. One thing to note though is that it's a tax credit, not a rebate, so make sure you have enough tax liability.

Although the 2022's are at least $3k higher than the 2021s... GT is $2k more and the Performance package is $6k now instead of $5k

That's what I'm thinking... Fortunately/unfortunately, we give a lot of money to the government :D

Also stinks that it was built in early May, so it doesn't have the beefier HVB connectors, but I'm ok with the software fix/patch. I think...

If the dealer doesn't insist on a trade-in as part of a deal, you may want to get your current Mach-E priced with some online car buyers. Driveway has recently been giving some very high offers.

Otherwise, if this isn't your order, and the dealer is letting you buy a GTPE off the lot on those terms, this is an excellent deal, and I think still a good deal even if Ford surprises everyone with some substantial updates for 2023.

You will very likely not see the full tax credit on a 2023 GTPE order, and there is very likely a substantial inflation/popularity price increase coming.

Carvana (For the 3rd time in 6 months) says "We need a consultant to look at it" and they never get back to me. Vroom came right in at $52,100, which is what the dealer is offering, and I'd lose the tax advantage.

Get an offer from Driveway, and if it's higher than the dealer's offer, ask for a match.

Does it have blue cruise ( Co-Pilot 360/Active 2.0 I think is needed) If you see a front camera and the eye nanny on top of the steering wheel it has it.

Check CarMax, but DO IT, GTPE Is way better with the side seat bolsters holding you better in the seat and the MagneRide! I did the same thing, although for a 2021 GTPE.
