I have been here from the beginning. My 2021 CA Route 1 was about the 75th off the line, delivered in Feb 2021... 19 months after the order was placed thanks to C-19 as we all know. There were so many challenges in the beginning - system faults and software glitches, techs who had no idea what they were doing, so many charging issues that first road trip, continuous recalls and software updates and very poor customer service from Ford. I stuck through it all and got many answers from those of you on this forum.
My parents both drove Mustangs in the 60s. The first car I ever bought on my own was a white 1988 Mustang with red interior, and I was so excited to be driving one again, even if my daughter called it a "faux" stang. But the fact that it was electric was the driving factor for me. The Model Y hadn't yet been released, and I wanted an SUV so this checked the boxes.
In Virginia Beach, where we lived at the time, I was a celebrity. I was the only one for a very long time. I would go months without ever seeing another MachE. I couldn't go to the grocery store without being stopped to answer questions. It was pretty fun, I will admit. And then I spent the last two winters in CA, and they are as numerous as Teslas. Sometimes there would be more than one MME in the parking lot!
But alas, we moved to the Boulder, CO area last summer and my bare bones, RWD vehicle was not cutting it. I wanted heated seats and steering wheel and I really need AWD. I drove the Audi Q4 e-tron which I didn't like at all, and then I drove the I4. Wow. A few months went by while I thought about it. We weren't really prepared to get another new car this year since husband got a new Bronco Raptor upon moving here (the exact opposite of an EV). But I just happened to drive by the used BMW lot and saw one out front. The price was right -- a 2024 I4 M50 with 8,900 miles, San Remo green, cognac interior, so I traded.
Last night I got an email from Ford. The Tesla charging adapter I ordered back in April shipped! How ironic is that? I wonder if it will work on my BMW.
