I have a 21 premium AWD that just had the HVJB replaced. They performed TSB 24-2017 and when I compare the TSB to the paperwork “pictures posted below”, I don’t see the battery mounting bracket bolts where ordered or replaced as stated in the TSB. I can’t find info stating that these are one time use bolts that need to be replaced. So I’m unsure if it’s much of an issue. I’m curious if anyone has any insight to if this should be of concern. I am hoping to have a little more info before discussing with the dealer. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I believe my dealership is having issues getting the bolts ordered, and was requesting to perform the HVJB repair WITHOUT ordering the battery mounting bolts. I believe they mentioned they wanted to re-use the old bolts. Hearing now that they are intended to be one-time use only, should I decline the repair until they receive the proper replacement bolts?

Seems like the bolts are readily available. I spoke to my dealer and they said that they didn't order them and had them in stock and did indeed replace them. The bolts part number also is used on Explorers for the cross member. May want to verify why they are having a hard time getting them.

I had an appointment for the replacement earlier this month. I called to see if they had everything, and they were short one or two bolts, so we moved the appointment to May. I don't fast charge, and am a very gentle driver, so I'm happy to wait.

My work order shows 2, not 4. Oh well.

You should probably remove and crop the first photo, it has your personal information in it.

Thank you, good catch! On my iPhone it didn't show that bit of my info and I thought it was cropped out.

The BECM bracket bolts no longer need to be replaced on the updated procedure. Same way with the 23S56 recall:

Date: 2/20/24
Vehicles in this program no longer require the four (4) BECM mounting bracket bolts to be replaced. Steps 6, 7 and 8 were removed from WSM 414-03A, which provided direction to remove the bus bar and BECM mounting bracket. A WSM update was made on 2/15/2024. The four (4) BECM mounting bracket bolts (W720404-S450) should not be ordered or submitted on claims opened after 2/20/2024. Any questions should be directed to the SSSC.
They are not structural bolts, just for a lightweight mounting bracket.

Thank you for the information! To clarify, isn’t this regarding the BECM bracket bolts for the extended range only models? I believe those are different than the battery mounting bracket bolts.

Only the battery mounting bracket bolts need to be replaced now from last update of recall.
