Unable to shift into Gear

I remote started the vehicle to prep for leaving this morning. When I hopped in and turned it on, I couldn't get the car to move from Park. I turned it off and back on. Left the car and locked the door and then restarted - same. It took 5 tries. Wondering if this is something that happens or if this is indicative of a problem. Scan of forum shows old posts from 22 about this but I didn't see anything more recent.

I would definitely have that checked out. You potentially could get one of the members here to read any codes it may have thrown. My MME would not shift out of park back in December and it was failed parking pawl servo. Similar symptom until it completely failed.
