Unable to shift - Please stop Safely (A complete write up)

Looks like I’m the next contestant on the “Stop Safely Now” club! Stuck in a parking lot waiting for the flatbed. Tow company confirmed they can tow it as long as I can get it into neutral - which I confirmed I can do using Emergency Tow Activation.

Waiting to see which part is bad - 12V battery or HVB module. And how long until parts can be delivered.

If it sits for more than a month, will Ford make a payment for me? I really don’t feel like making payments on a car I can’t drive.

Dont mean to scare you off. Mine showed stop safely now in Jan 1 2022, they said it was the HVBJB and BECM issue. Its almost end of April and my car is sitting in for 4 months now. I hear updates from there twice a week but everytime they're waiting for the parts. They finally got it now and have started working on the car. I got a Ford Fusion and pay for the gas and make monthly payments on the Mach-E. If this doesn't get solved this time, I'll be looking for an attorney as well!

your car has to be off the road for 30 days in order for them to make payments. Odds are it will 100% be off the road for more than 30 days so you just need to create a case with ford customer support.

UPDATE:

it has happened yet AGAIN to me. Says “stop safely now”. Lets see how long this takes to fix. I will be making another thread and will post it here with a new link.

So this is one more case where the new High Voltage Battery Junction Box fails after replacement which shows that the new part is no better than the old one and the issue is not resolved.

Please report the issue to NHTSA if you haven't done already and add yourself in the spreadsheet in this thread https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/survey-high-voltage-battery-junction-box-issues.17433/

It looks like they replaced your HVBJB last time and nothing else. When mine died with this issue, they replaced the BECM, not the HVBJB and it been fine since then. Maybe they swapped the wrong part last time? Just a guess.

Changed my vote to yes today, ? service will correct the issue and not go through it again. I'll sure to note the BECM along with the HVBJB when I take it in Tuesday.
