I submitted a photo of me alongside my Mach E to the Chicago Dental Society local branch news because they want members to contribute any news that they may have. After I submitted the photo to my Branch Correspondent I received an e-mail back from him urging me to start attending the branch meetings again as the attendance apparently hasn't been good. I've been retired for years and have not attended these meetings and I responded that I really wasn't interested in starting that again as I went for years when I practiced and that portion of my life ended when I retired. Not to be deterred I received yet another e-mail from the Branch Correspondent telling me that he was very interested in my new Mustang Mach E and he was sure other members of the dental membership of the Chicago Dental Society would be too and would I consider coming to the meeting and showing my car to the members present that night. He felt if he advertised that a Mustang Mach E was going to be shown they might attract more members to attend the meeting. I laughed to myself at the lengths he went to get me to attend but I did agree to go and to show the car that night. So on the evening of October 19th I will be taking Illinipony to the South Suburban Branch of the CDS at a golf course showing him before the dinner meeting to any members interested in seeing my car. I don't really know how much interest there will be but I agreed to do it just to placate him. I've been retired since 2013 and who knows, I may see former students who are now practicing dentists and/or former referring dentists to my specialty practice. I never thought I'd be showing my car to this group of people but there is a lot of interest in Ford's new Mustang so we'll see what happens at the meeting in October.

Yes. Yes there sure is.

You, sir, will help fill the deep cavities of EV knowledge for those attending.

You can wow them with the V8 under the hood while you explain how Old Red's motors are brushless yet clean of combustion byproducts and other contaminants.

Don't forget to mention the F-150 Whitening, er ... Lightning, that will be released next year.

Perhaps pick up some Mustang brochures from the dealer on the way over, and offer them as free Mental Floss for their consideration.

Very clever! It's Old Blue's motors though.

Don't let them "drill" you too hard on EV ownership. You may need to "brush" up on some topics here before you go.

Make sure you show off the large "cavity" that is the frunk in the Mach E.

Maybe it can be a new "bonding" exercise for you with old colleagues and you can "implant" some knowledge.

You can "cap" it off by referring them all to the forum.

Oh yes, you're right! A bit of plaque on my mind, needed to scrape that off apparently. Yours is the same color as mine, too, but somehow the whole dentistry thing had me thinking of bloody red.

All of the time while performing endodontic treatment I used a rubber dam around the tooth. This prevented any salivary contamination of the root canal system. The procedure itself is bloodless so thinking “bloody red” doesn’t fit. Where it does fit is when I performed endodontic surgery in the periapical portion of the root(s). Here it was necessary to raise a flap of gingiva with a scalpel and also remove the bone from around the root apices and this did cause some bleeding so I guess you could call that bloody red. During my career I performed thousands of root canals but only hundreds of surgeries so my practice was pretty blood free.

I just passed out. Kidding!

Please forgive my actions and ignorances. I lost all my wisdom ? at the young age of 12. That was a bloody affair at the hands of a maxillofacial surgeon.

I've been struggling during the dry sockets of these past many years to rediscover wisdom, which may be how I ended up at this bloody forum.

I hear you! I did a whole lot of oral surgery while I was in the Army. The patient population of young soldiers had many problems with their third molars (wisdom teeth). Having a “dry socket” is unfortunately something that goes along with this type of surgery and I used to have to treat these every morning when the troops would line up in the dental clinic to be seen. I would pack the sockets with gauze soaked with eugenol (clove oil) to provide them with relief. If you really did have a dry socket I feel for you as it is one of the most miserable and painful experiences you can have. I was a general dentist then and worked under the supervision of maxillofacial surgeons. The Army was a great residency for me right out of dental school as you don’t have very much experience when you graduate. I was rotated through all the specialty areas and it helped me to select endodontics as something I wanted to do.

I hope you can implant interest in the Mach-E.

Ha, ha! I’ll try but you know implants are the bane of treatment to an Endodontist; we try to save the natural tooth via a root canal while those proposing an implant want to extract the tooth and replace it with an implant. Given the choice, I’d always opt for my own natural tooth assuming the prognosis was favorable for the.root canal.
