Updated windshield after recall

Well, It happened. My windshield broke during the recall. The new one has lines in the camera area. I am 99% sure they were not in my previous one.

I assume they are for heating although I suspect that the heating elements are meant for a newer model and therefore not plugged into anything.

The lines are laid in pretty haphazardly. I’m not sure if it is an installation, or manufacturing issue. My friends Tesla has similar lines but they are nice and straight.

Anyone else get a similar “upgrade” after the recall?

Your windshield looks identical to mine, I don’t think they changed it.

Our '20 Edge ST and '20 Explorer ST only have 3-single widely spaced diagonal lines. So this looks to be a lot more effective for keeping the camera view free of condensation.

Feb 2021 build, mine has lines too, haven't done the recall yet. Very different pattern though?
