Version numbers will be changing as follows:
2.3.x -> 2.6.x
2.4.x -> 2.7.x
2.5.x -> 2.8.x

I wonder if the pause is for the switchover? I'm still seeing people in the upper 2.4 and in 2.5 continuing to get updates in those series. Maybe those of us down at 2.4.2/3 are about to jump to 2.7.x?
Oh re-numbering. Well that’s an excellent reason to delay the BC rollout.

It possible - and perhaps these higher versions (new versions) could be combining several updates into 1 reducing the number of updates
Maybe but I doubt it. That would require re-testing them.

Well, since a post by a UK member a while ago quoted Ford as saying that the frunk button was coming in a 2.8.x update, this may indicate an early Christmas for @Jimrpa .

I asked that exact question about a week ago (if some updates could be combined) and the various DIYers had solid-sounding reasons why that would be impossible/not practical.

I haven't seen any major failures with any of these current updates, except for some that fail but then work on subsequent retry attempts.
There have a few that have had it fail, but not try again. Hopefully they are not stuck in a failed state.

2.8.3 according to this post.

Or maybe they can skip the testing, since it doesn’t seem to be working for sh*t so far.
I totally disagree. We have multiple people here on the Forum whose Job 1 cars Notes have functional Blue Cruise.

Why would they be renaming these if there are no changes? It seems weird to jump things up like this if the update content is the same. Most people have 2.3.0 or below so it would make sense to just roll out the existing updates.

I'm very curious to know how Ford's development team operates because I'm having trouble understanding their process.

I guess we will never know what they are, I am curious though. Either way, I look forward to eventually getting these updates.

I am glad to see Ford keeping a progressive naming scheme for the updates to prevent issues like we had with people getting 1.4 after 1.6 or 1.7.1

I wonder how long it will be before all Mach-E models are on the same software version, similar to Tesla, instead of having all this fragmentation. I'm sure that would make Ford's life easier.

The UK post said 2.8 would bring frunk release button
