I have a new 2023 AWD Prem. Yes it takes a little learning. But it is an amazing vehicle. I’m new to the forum and after a few days of daily summaries you would think the MME is the worst ever.

So I’m speaking up for those of us who love it.

I read about some legitimate gripes, but man a big portion of the complaints are clearly user error or people just not taking time to read the directions!

This is the dawn of a new age. I can imagine all those people who thought motor cars would never catch on because who knows if you’ll be able to find a gas station when you need one, and horses never run out of gas.

Get used to it. There are people on here who are never happy with anything. Case in point: See complaints about the FREE Tesla adapter. :(

Careful, some people will be offended that you're enjoying the car.

Glad you’re enjoying the car! I enjoy mine as well.

Just a quick history lesson though, as far as electric cars go this is hardly a new thing. In fact electric cars predate gas cars and were sold alongside them for over 100 years.

We are just revisiting and improving on very old tech.

Yes, some people just go thru life with their cars half dis-charged while others half charged! As for myself - 22 GT with zero issues to date! Only thing I can not comment on is how well it operates below -35F as I have not driven it in any temp lower than that.

In my opinion, the problem is that the pendulum is either on one of the sides and seldom in-between. Are the people that complain due to their own inability to operate the vehicle - for sure. Are there people that complain about the sake of complaining - for sure!

But there are some valid criticisms of the vehicle or Ford that is brushed over and blamed the users, when it should be otherwise. Some examples:

1) Brake that fails either due to surface dirt / rust or brake failures (Danish cases). Here Ford should be the responsible part and make sure the vehicle is programmed in such a way that it would prioritize clean brake discs. Telling it's a user error that you have to know to forcefully put the car in N while at speed to engage the brake pedals is wrong.

2) OTA-hell. At one side of the discussion, I and most people applaud the ability to get OTA's, but the way it is done is questionable. Almost no Mach E is like others, and it is a range of different versions (and different bugs) that seemingly roll out when they like it. Oh, and then there is those unlucky ones were the car bricked and had to be towed when doing updates.

3) HVBJB - enough said. I am on my fourth one now. Also, the whole ordeal that users have to almost stand with a gun to the head of the dealers to get them to replace it, and even so some of us had to wait weeks for the parts to be available. The information regarding the process has also been widely different from person to person, where a lot of people didn't even get a letter or Fordpass information about the process.

4) Cruise control / auto-acceleration bug. While most cases are likely "fat fingers", there are valid reports from users where certain conditions (parking spots, changing from reverse to drive, guest profile / profile changing etc.) somehow can trigger acceleration that is not user engaged.

5) Various software bugs. Not that important, just inconvenient. The reports are so many that it is not just user error all the time, Ford has some learning to do when it comes to software.

6) Blue cruise. As with OTAs, different cars - different versions. Some people have paid a hefty 600 dollars for a feature that for some is not even possible to use. Also, it is a factor of trust issues between Ford and users when the former communicates a timeframe to the latter, only for it to go radio silent after. Understandable delays happen, but being more upfront and preventing people from paying money for a not functional service would help a lot here.

7) Charge port. It's just cheap. Mine broke the first winter and barely survived the other. While mechanical ports are not perfect, they are better than one as flimsy as the one we have now. Especially cold countries with snow and ice are heavily affected by this.

8) Subscription models that removes core functionality. The navigation system in the car is used for a range of actions, from speed limits as well as precondition. Most of us will only have this feature for a limited time, before we have to pay for it. If it was a simple matter as just having to deal with outdated maps that would be fine, but precondition makes a big deal both in terms of battery health as well as convenient charging experience (some people report close to 40-50% more energy delivered at a certain time frame with precondition).

9) Segregated market. European (EU) and American can both buy the car, yet the way Ford handles the market is interesting. Many of the tools, accessories and services offered in American is not available for us in EU. For example, we cannot get the aerowheels for extra range, panorama roof seals (reduces noise at high speeds), panorama roof shade as well as another small things. At same time EU still gets the parking assist, powered tailgate and trail hook (up to 1500 kg) etc. Also, the HVBJB has been a nightmare for the EU, as it seems that America gets first priority. At my local dealer they now have a handful of cars that has been stuck there for close to 3 months, as Ford seems to prioritize handling HVBJB replacements in American first before sending parts to EU.

Again, these were a few of the things from atop of my head. I am happy with the car, but at same time I believe it is beneficial that we discuss these matters as not either the worst thing in the world or the best thing in the world.
