Hi everyone I'm new to this forum.I took delivery of my Mme January 31st and fell in love immediately what a fantastic car now here's the but from the first week of ownership the car goes into deep sleep mode within an hour of parking up which shuts down connectivity my dealer and Ford's technical team have so far failed to fix this problem.My question is has anyone else have or had this problem .My dealer says out all the Mustang 's they have felt with mine is the only one with this problem.

Yes more than once in the 4months l have had the car it has been in the dealership for 6weeks. I have raised this with the Ford Mustang help line and received an email Friday saying they are work basically saying that they don't know how to fix it. I was just wondering if anyone else is in this position

Mine does this too. I didn’t think it was a bug but it’s really annoying that I can’t check any of the stats when I leave it parked for a while. Whenever I’m on vacation, I wanna see if the charge is going down at all.

My car goes into a deep sleep after only a few hours too. I thought this was normal. I agree with what was said earlier in that it's only a nuisance when you look at your Ford Pass to see the level of charge and it says the car has been in a deep sleep and hasn't updated in hours.

Deep sleep is intended to prevent battery drain from the Imbedded Modem. It usually shouldn't activate until it's been parked for a while (usually about 1-2 weeks). All Ford vehicles with FordPass have this feature.

As to why it's happening, I'm not sure. I would start troubleshooting by removing the fuse that runs the telematics (imbedded modem) for 5 minutes. I believe it's fuse #11 in the BCM fuse box in the passenger footwell. Next I would move on to the LVB (the 12 v under the hood) and test that. (sounds like you've had this looked at).

If neither of those works, I'd take a look at anything that could be a battery drain.

Yes, I have had this message once on the center stack screen; what does this mean? Should I take the car into the dealer to check it? I have a 12 volt battery meter and when I plug it in it's over 12.6 volts and in the green but if I leave the meter there longer it goes down to below 12.6 volts and the meter turns yellow. Is there a battery drain I don't know about? Will the car update while in a deep sleep? Is there a way to stress test the 12 volt battery?

What do you think deep sleep is? Are you talking about FordPass saying "Updated XX hours ago"? Or the message that says "You're seeing the last details your vehicle told us before it went to sleep"?

I have a feeling some people may think the regular sleep is deep sleep.

The system powers down to conserve the 12v system when it's below a certain threshold. The dealer should be able to check the status of the battery and determine if a replacement is necessary. The car will not update when in deep sleep.

It's possible that you have a drain somewhere, but the more likely scenario is The vehicle may have sat for an extended period of time in the past draining the 12v to the point that it won't hold a charge. We ran into this a lot when Fusion and C-Max HEV/PHEVs were popular and we had a number of them sitting on our lot undriven for extended time.

This vehicle has a DC-DC inverter instead of an alternator and takes some time to recharge the 12v system. If you take a lot of short trips, (like on a car lot) it may not be sufficient time to recharge the 12v system

Does keeping the car plugged in allow for the DC-DC inverter to work? I keep it plugged in most of the time (even after it charges to 80%). We do take a lot of short trips but I was under the impression that the 12 volt battery would recharge anytime it fell below a certain threshold.

No, the LV system is fully disconnected from the HV system when the ignition is off. Short trips still shouldn't affect it too much unless you're driving like 2 miles a day for a few weeks. Any 30-45 min drive should bring it back to normal levels assuming a healthy battery.

Based on the OP this sounds normal and my car does the same thing. So unless there is some problem other than FP not updating, I don't think there is anything to investigate.

The LVB is maintained when plugged into at least L2 charger. @louibluey is the expert on this
