The Harley LiveWire comes with more free EA charging than the Mach-E. ?

Who cares about free charging? It costs me about $15 to fully charge my Mach-E from 0% to 100% in the comfort of my home.

Want to drive it 5 miles to some unsecured parking lot and leave your Mach-E overnight to charge for free? Go for it. And deal with the logistics of having your wife or g/f drive you back and forth like a chauffer, all to save a few bucks.

Free charging wasn't even on my radar when considering this car.

If you buy a car for free charging, it’s sucker bait. All that “more” free charging won’t be used unless you can use it where you live or work. Not likely to happen. If you take 300 mile trips every other week it may be worth the extra $10, 000 plus you get in ’free” charging while the cars are $20,000 or more in price comparisons. The LiveWire is an orange in a basket of apples. Ford is not in that motorcycle market.

Wow people are angry! It's ok to have differing opinions.

Some people looking at this car value free charging and some don't.

I've talked to ev owners who charge exclusively at EA and not at home. Cars with free charging are going to save them 3k-4k a year because no fuel cost. Those people exist whether this forum wants them to or not and they are looking at the mach e whether you believe it or not. Now are there a lot of these people? I don't have that data. Maybe not that much since the wait times for the car are still so long.

To the OP, it appears that Ford has decided not to offer free charging. And I'm not sure they need to, their order backlog is huge. Enough people are buying the car anyway. I think if you test drive it you will see why, hopefully you are able to try it out!

Literally, nothing that you buy is free. There are hidden costs and upfront costs. If you go to places that offer 2 for the price of one, you are paying more than you would for "the one" if they didn't market it that way.

When it comes right down to it, if the place you buy the product from is viewed as "cheap", you are most likely going to get said product for less money than the competition.

Rolls Royce, on the other hand is not viewed as "cheap". You are paying a substantial price for the looks of "not being cheap". If you don't want to be associated with a "cheap" brand, I suggest going out and purchasing a hand made car.

As of right now, Ford can certainly afford to be viewed as "cheap" if they wanted. They can't make enough of the cars and they are way behind the 8 ball in terms of production for the last few months/year.

I can't believe that I am seeing so many people purchasing "cheap" cars for 5k ADM. ;) When Ford sees this, they certainly aren't questioning if they should have more incentives towards said car.

My point is this. I don't believe that Ford is cheap per se, but if they wanted to be, they could do so with little to no harm IMO. Ford (along with every other company on the planet) is trying to sell as many cars as possible. If you want to go the place where you can get 2 pancakes for the price of one.....................I will see you at IHOP my friend. ?

Value is subjective. Ford has provided more than enough DCFC at no cost then I will ever need. I am much happier that Ford offered a few thousand dollars discount off the purchase of my FE instead of giving me practically valueless charging.
I have had MachE since 06-21 and only needed to charge on 1 road trip so far; free charging is a bit overrated. Performance is a bigger separator; nothing like "UNBRIDLED"

It would not be fair to everyone that those people who depend on EA exclusively use the system more frequently but we all contribute the same amount as far as who pays for the "free charging".

The free charging will be mascarading itself as a cost somewhere, like a higher MSRP.

Excellent troll job especially when you consider that most Harley owners ride their bike about 1000 miles in 5 years. Not much money will be coming out of HD's pockets in any case, lol.

I wouldn't have purchased a BEV if I didn't have the capability for Level 2 charging at home. I view DCFC as the equivalent of eating McDonalds on a road trip. Sometimes necessary, but not a healthy thing to always do.

BTW, have yet to touch my free charging balance (bought in October.)

Did OP join three weeks ago just to complain? Glad your here and welcome, but I'm glad I'm not paying for everyone to get free charging as after almost a year, we've used EA once.

And how much "free" gas do you get with a new ICE.........why expect anything different with a EV? You get one tank of gas or a charged battery to start with either way.

Don't get me wrong - I enjoy a patronizing response as much as the next person, but the reality is the LiveWire costs 40% as much as the GTPE I ordered but comes with 2x the free charging.

Ford is being cheap, no matter how they justified it.

- Mark
The MME has more seats, windows, windshields, and frunks than the Livewire. Who is really being cheap?

In all seriousness, nothing in life is free. Including free charging just means the cost is built into the vehicle price. I wonder if I'll ever use the 500kwH that Ford gave me. I have no desire to subsidize other people's charging (although I am in other ways through taxes/tax incentives).

My car is nearing a year old and I haven't used a minute of he free charging that I was given. Does it expire? Can I transfer it too someone that could use it?
