Anyone seen this happen before?
This was seen when driving close to the end of a short trip. It was fine moments before.
When parking, switching to rear camera and back, cleared the problem.
Carplay bug?
Trim: 2022 GT non-PE, no 360, no BlueCruise.

That to me looks like some artifacting from the video stream from your device to the cars screen. Similar to when you're streaming video on a tv or phone if you get some interference or something it can cause some video glitches. Usually every so often it refreshes the full video and will go back to normal.

That could have been an issue with sync running slow, your device running slow, or just some wifi interference.

Ah yes, it does look like the old DivX codec video glitches back in the late 90s.
Thanks

Yup, this is because Wireless CarPlay essentially sends a compressed video signal to the infotainment system, and some wifi interference is causing the bitrate on that video to suffer. If you go wired, you shouldn't have this problem. I have wired CarPlay in my Forester and I've never seen anything like this.

In about four months of daily use and 5K+ miles this is the first time I see this.
Thanks again. Glad it’s not firmware issue!

I’ve actually experienced this once in the past. Was getting artifacting and glitching throughout the entire CarPlay UI, not just in Waze (maps). I rebooted SYNC and it was fine after a reconnect.

If there are a lot of WiFi access points or wireless cameras in an area it can mess with CarPlay since it's going over WiFi.
