I've had my 2023 mach e for about a month and absolutely love it. However, there is a weird little quirk that I don't know if I should be worried about. Every time I move from a stop, be it a stop sign or a red light, and even with minimal acceleration, I hear a sound that can best be described as a "glug-glug". Or maybe like a stone dropping into a half filled jug of water. Most often it's somewhere underneath the frunk, though I feel like sometimes it's more towards the center of the car. Anyone else experience this or is my car gaslighting me?

if you have "auto hold" on then it could be the brakes releasing that you hear. It sound more like "kathung" to me, but maybe that is it?

Nope, auto hold is off.

Good afternoon. Would you please send over a private message with your VIN and dealer info so I can look into this noise concern on my end? Thank you.

It's probably air bubbles in the coolant. Your car is new so you'll probably hear them at times, like on inclines, while accelerating, and when you turn the heat on. It takes several months to work them all out, longer if you live in a moderate climate where battery heating or cooling isn't required.

P.S. - Please don't say "gaslighting" that is WAY overused.

And misused. Gaslighting means tricking someone into doubting his own senses or sanity. Simple lying or deception is not gaslighting.

I literally don’t know what it’s like to misuse a word.

Please don’t visit a dealer for this.
Agreed. Unlikely something is broken, so nothing to fix.

The hard part about not having a noisy gas engine is you hear EVERYTHING.

That’s why we see so many threads about rattles and wind noise. Your old car made all these noises and then some….. you just couldn’t hear it over the engine.
