Weird Safety Recall package came yesterday

My biggest issue with the charging mat is it over heats the phone after 45 min or so. I would like to know if the new one does not do that. I generally use a cord on the few occassions I take a longer trip.

I haven’t seen the points yet either. I called Ford today. At first they implied I may not have done the recall yet and the points dont show up until you do but then I asked them to double check. She said she would escalate the issue and I should here back in 5 days

It makes the phone easier to align to the coils. There's no difference in charging speed once they are aligned. My new phone is a little narrower than my old phone and it is easy to miss the little alignment tab on the back left of the old mat. Old phone, no problems charging, new phone is about 50% with the old mat until I reposition the phone. It works every time with the new mat.

Can you give us any information on this charging pad update? The rest of us might want to purchase it......

I'd like to upgrade my charger but 1) I need Qi2 support, and 2) I don't like that this one uses the only USB-C port. I'd prefer some kind of hardwired solution that leaves the USB-C port free and also increases the wattage to 15W.

We are all getting this... all who are affected by the HV battery contactor recall. It's Ford's goodwill gesture.

It's so nice of Ford to offer these packages during their recall but for all of us who had to get these parts replaced prior to the official recall during their technical service period. Get no thanks for the pain that we suffered in this defective part in so many vehicles if not all I wonder if they even the new part is even corrected many folks here have seen multiple failures of their high voltage battery connector. It's sad I called today to see if I qualify for the program because I did get it replaced but unfortunately it was a few weeks before the official recall came in they said nope you get nothing I thought that was very strange considering that this was something that they knew was going to happen and they just basically tell people they go pound sand#ford

Received this pad today wondering why?? Had to search here for answers. Maybe with the alignment tab, our phones will finally charge. At best, we would only get about 10% charge in an hour. Both our iPhones would get smoking hot in the process.

Yesterday I got a UPS package from Ford that contained the attached letter. I came with a replacement for the mobile phone charging pad, 30,000 Ford Pass Rewards points, and a gift card. I googled the recall number and it seems to be related to the battery but I am wondering why the heck are they giving me a new charging matt? My old one was fine. What a weird gift.

Has anyone else gotten this and does anyone have any more information on what this is al about?
