H - we are looking to buy a 2022 Mach-E Premium AWD extended range. The window sticker has a line item as below for active park assist.

Window sticker:
"ACTIVE PARK ASSIST - PREP KIT - 325.00"

If someone knows, could you please tell me what this means? Does this car not have active park assist?

Doesn’t have active park assist. Has a credit of $325 to make up for it. Also has a prep kit (e.g wiring for sensors, etc) installed so nominally can be added later. No clue on what the cost will be, if any, not when might be available.

I’ve used the thing a handful of times, mainly to show my spouse how to use it and how reliable it is. Never been used otherwise.

The car DOES NOT have Active Park Assist, and nothing that anyone can do right now can return the functionality if that is listed, as far as we know anyway. Ford said at some point in the future they will provide the missing component to be purchased and installed by a dealer, but nobody knows what the cost of that may be, both in terms of part cost and dealer cost.

So if active park assist is critical for some reason, the Mach-E is not a good fit at this time. The '22 has the Prep Package listed, but '23s don't list APA at all.

So again, no point in asking your dealer what it will cost to add it later or anything like that, Ford hasn't released any of those details. I don't imagine they will do so until the chip shortage that kicked this off has resolved.

Thank you. So I imagine they used to offer it at some point but at this point they have the car "setup" so that it can be added in the future.

I assume the parking sensors and everything works fine and just the active park assist is missing.
