After the last OTA update a few weeks back, as others have reported, my PAAK functionality went way down.

I brought my Job 2 Premium AWD Ex to Vista Ford in Woodland Hills, CA to request the CSP 21P22 module updates, hoping that even though that's intended only for Job 1 vehicles, they might agree to do it. They said no, and sent me the attached instructions to do a PAAK reset from Ford Tech Support.

Before I go ahead and do a Master Reset, I want to find out if doing so will completely remove all fo the preferences and settings I've changed, and bring everything to a factory default. For example, will it remove all of my radio/Sirius presets? Will it remove my HomeLink garage & gate programming?

Yes, that's exactly what it does. I don't believe it will wipe out HomeLink, but pretty much everything else that you've set will be reset back to factory defaults.

Thank you. I really need to find out for certain about the HomeLink if anyone happens to know, as I was only able to program the gate for our complex when I happened to catch a repairman fixing the gate motor so he could put it in learning mode.

It won't touch Homelink. To erase Homelink, hold the two outside buttons for over 10 seconds until indicator light goes from solid to blinking. All the brains of Homelink are in the visor, and all the car provides is 12v.

I have added Homelink to visors on my 2013 F-150, and our now sold 2018 Fusion Energi, so I am 100% positive on this.

Did they actually do the RFA update on your car when it was there?

No. The service guy had sent in the request to Ford Tech Support and said there was no way to know how long it would take to get a response, so I went home. They sent me the response via email later.

I should add that the reasoning he gave for not performing the CSP 21P22 update on a non Job 1 car was not because of lack of reimbursement from Ford, but rather that he was concerned if he did perform it there might be a conflict with hardware or software on my car and cause other problems.

Well, your car wouldn't have the same updates available to do 21P22, he would basically just be re-flashing modules. But updates have been coming out for Job 2 cars, with some people having an RFA update available that improves PaaK reliability and the others getting Job 2 cars the same charging speed curve improvement as Job 1 cars in 21P22. You can send me your VIN and I can check what your car shows as available.

I don't know the specifics of how home link works, but it seems that the way Ford has implemented it, learning mode is no longer required (at least on the garage door openers at my and my parents houses).

With every other vehicle I've had, it was a two step process, holding up the garage door opener to the home link receiver in the car to program that, then putting the door opener into learning mode and pushing the button on home link.

But with my 2016 F 150 and MME, it just started working after the first step ?‍♂

It depends on the unit and whether it utilizes a fixed or rolling code. Both my garage door & gate are rolling and required learning mode.

Which OTA? Bluecruise map update is the only OTA for Job 2 MMEs so far. Was it FP 4.11 update and the concurrent server meltdown that started PAAK issues? Not sure Master Reset is really necessary.

Looks like you do have the Job 2 RFA update available, I'd just tell your dealer to do that... you clearly have issues with PaaK and they should perform it. You also have the charging curve improvements available now, but there are no instructions yet for dealers to do these, so unless your dealer wants to just be nice, it is a tougher proposition.

Does Master Reset rollback the system version too? Or would you still have say 2.3.0 if you did Master Reset?
