What the 2022s aren’t missing in intelligent park assist

I’ve had my car since Dec and I had tried the intelligent parking assistance on my dealer’s demo during test drives (it work so so).

This weekend I tested it on my car in a mostly empty parking lot.

I'm surprised it chose that spot. Park Assist requires vertical surfaces to align against. It doesn't rely on paint markings.

In my limited experience (I've had my '22 GT for less than two months) when parallel parking it appears to really like driveways

Most parking assistance systems appear to better park among other cars and don't recognize markings on the ground well

I Watch Teslas in Scottsdale nearly run over people run up on curbs and bump into shopping carts. It’s not intelligent park assist “ it’s look at me my car can drive itself”….. and ruh roh it just ran into a Camry.

None of it is completely baked yet….

I have no issues with park assist.

We had this feature on our Cmax and did not use it once for the 7 Years that we owned the car! That being said, I never say never!! Lol
