I have had a couple ‘70-1/2s through my hands, plus a number of others I worked on. Unfortunately, none were Ram Air IVs. The T/As were all 400 Ram Air (known as Ram Air III outside of Pontiac). Fun fact: most ‘70-1/2 V8 Firebirds had 12-Bolt rears where their cousins from Brand X needed to have a big block optioned I order to get a 12-Bolt. My ‘79 has a 12-Bolt rear from a junker base V8 ‘bird (Strange axles, C-clip eliminator, Eaton clutch differential, factory rear discs from the 10-bolt). 🤪🐩

Fun facts indeed

my dad had a 68 yellow Pontiac GTO auto hurst on the floor. I forgot engine size, I thought 400 hp but could be wrong. I think it got 7 gallons to the mile But at 25 cents a gallon cost Wasn’t so bad.

I started driving in 1997 at age 16. Until the MME, Ford was never on my radar (except I thought about a Ford Probe before ultimately getting the Eclipse).

'87 Honda civic hatchback (stick shift, only 4 gears, barely had enough power to get out of the valley I lived in)

'93 red stick shift Mitsubishi eclipse. Fun and a great car for a high school/college student. Died fairly young with like 120k miles.

'92 stick shift Toyota camry. Died with over 300k miles.

Briefly had a stick shift Saab 9000 turbo but forget what model year. Turbo was fun.

'06 stick shift Honda accord. Great car, almost no problems, but was ready to go electric.

'17 Chevy Volt. Forced into automatic transmissions 😆. Great car but wanted more electric range.

'19 Chevy Bolt. Great car but took the battery recall buyback from Chevy when I had the chance.

'22 Ford MME Premium STD range AWD Rapid Red. My favorite car ever. Hope to keep this one for a very long time.

1990 Honda Civic Blue Metallic (my wife’s first car)
1993 Mazda Xedos Silver (this was in France)

Most ‘68 GTOs had a 350HP 400 (NHRA factored at 390) with casting #48 D-port heads and a 4-bolt block, unless it was a Ram Air II (super-rare). Jim and Joe Mino used to trade off king of the hill with their ‘68 Firebird Ram Air II in the NHRA Pure Stock drags with a Hemi ‘Cuda back in the ‘90s. Winner wasn’t eligible to compete the year after they won, so they’d swap out every other year. 🤪🐩

GM lifted their 400 inch displacement limit on the mid-size cars in 1970 (Brand X didn’t observe the limit, Olds got by sending engines and chassis to Hurst). They lifted the limit on the F-bodies (Firebirds and Camaros - not that you couldn’t order a factory engine larger through COPO from Brand X) in 1971. So your dad’s GTO was a couple of years early to get a 455. 😊🐩

I own a Driving School business so I will leave "those cars" off the list. I have owned the Business since 98 and I usually trade 1 or 2 every year and I usually have around 5-6 at all times. Some were Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Pontiac, Chevy and a lot of Toyota's.

My personal cars that I remember: I use to flip cars for a hobby and some of those are not listed either. Too many damn cars!!!!🤪

73 Dodge Dart (first car) was owned by a preacher and was in perfect new shape.
73 Dodge Charger SE
63 Chevy Truck
61 Chevy Truck
64 2 dr. Impala
68 Torino GT
75 Ford Truck
75 Dodge Truck
88 Lebaron
91 Firebird
92 Grand Am
86 Plymouth Caravan
92 Dodge Van
96 Chrysler Van
13 Tacoma
81 Vette (still own)
08 Vette
08 Mustang
12 Lexus ES 350
07 Tacoma
07 Rav 4
13 Rav 4
18 Rav 4
21 Highlander Platinum Hybrid (still own)

Best quality car was/is my Prius and worst was the Ford Focus. Chevy Cavalier takes a close second though to worst car I have owned.

The 22 MME is one of my Driving School cars and one of my favorite cars to drive. It has the "fun" factor built into it.

I think I have the years right:

1988 Ford Thunderbird (junk, swore I would never buy another Ford)
1990 Mazda MX-6
1993 Chevy Lumina Z34 (a close second piece of junk)
1998 Toyota 4Runner (beginning of the era when our cars were meant to cart around the family)
2008 Subaru Tribeca (great vehicle, unfortunately someone ran a light and kind of sheered the whole front off ☹)
2014 Volvo XC90 (a tank - last of the carting around the family era)
2021 Ford Mach E Premium

Figured I'd take a chance with Ford again cause it would be fun to be an early adopter. So far so good!!

2022 was a very busy year with a Chevrolet buyback and then quick flip of the EUV for equity before the rebates started. The EV6 GT was a splurge but took advantage of still high resale values and a sudden lack of demand after the tax credit expired and the Tesla price cuts started. I’m done for at least 5 or 10 years now. The 2017 purchases were due to needing a more kid friendly and an adverse weather vehicle since we moved to the mountains. The MME was to finally convert the daily drivers to all EVs with AWD. The Jeep made the Outback irrelevant and we needed towing etc. and who doesn’t like a convertible truck?!

Another Bolt buyback! Yeah I left off my list my 2022 GMC Canyon at4 that I swapped into them traded in for the MachE 28 days later.
