Well, the hummer attracted me to EVs initially, then put an order for a rivian after comparing the 2.

then got impatient and went for the Mach e.
I still have the reservation for the r1t, but no possible delivery estimate.
But if I had to pick today, I’d keep the Mach e vs the rivian.

having said that, I’m planning on picking up an ice beater avalanche/sequoia/Tahoe/Escalade/expedition/etc for hauling/towing/camping/off-roading and to serve as a backup if something happens to the Mach e

The Lyric is definitely on the radar. Beautiful SUV.

Also like the Mercedes EQE, although performance stats not exactly industry-leading for the money.
So disappointed, BTW. In Stockholm today and saw a new EQE being used as a taxi. Sigh…..

Truth is, you buy an EV, as long as you own it, you are pretty much at the mercy of how the manufacturer wants to service it. Thus far, the EV manufacturers are taking an anti-right-to-repair stance. That can be really off-putting for some. Yes, fewer things break in theory, but when they break, the car can become inoperable in a flash. Just know that going into this.

Out of the slightly over a year of ownership, my car has probably been in the shop for about a month total. Pretty darn odd for a brand new car.
Good to know, thanks. Fortunately this will be a 3rd car so wouldn't be disasterous. But that could become annoying after taking quick repairs for granted for so long.

And like you said many EVs (Tesla included) would suffer from this issue.

While I'd love an F150 Lightning ... it wont fit in the garage and I hate the idea of spending that much on a new vehicle and leaving it outside. Worse ... I have a narrow driveway that only widens just before the two-bay garage door. An F150 parked outside would block a 2nd car from being parked inside.

I'd like a smaller truck ... the size of a Maverick or Ranger ... I think even a Rivian would fit.

Well, Ford did just trademark Maverick Lightning and Ranger Lightning.
I'm hearing they filed for trademarks in Europe and North America. In Europe they are going for "Lightning" but in North America they are going with "Thunderbolt" ... so I guess it'll be Maverick Thunderbolt and Ranger Thunderbolt. But who knows ... maybe they surprise us.

Lucid or Karma would be on the list just for "new hotness", Rivian is interesting. Really, though, it depends on what's available and good when the time comes. 2-3 years is a long time in EV land lately.

I'm waiting for Fisker Ocean, but not sure that I would trade one of my MMEs for it.

To be honest, the Mach e is just a bridge to the Lightning for me. I did not want to miss out on the tax credit before it’s gone. I lost hope they would still be around by the time my Lightning arrives.
