I would go F150 Lightning but like someone said earlier the electric blazer would get a look.

As someone with a MachE on order, this thread is making me a little nervous. I was hoping to see more people who would replace with a newer MachE or at least stick with another Ford.
Yeah, funny part about all this is that I never owned a Ford in my life, only have owned two American cars in over 28 years of driving. I love my Mach-E, slightly obsessed with it, but I don't know how much I would recommend it at this point to someone as an "only car". Heck, I'm rethinking my stance as all-EV all the way.
My gf, when I asked her if she would think about a Mach-E, after she saw what I went through with BECM replacement, glass recall, and my dealership journey, said no. She was thrilled about the idea of an EV in general until about Feb of this year, and now she is having second thoughts about getting an EV from any brand. This is primarily Ford's doing.

Truth is, you buy an EV, as long as you own it, you are pretty much at the mercy of how the manufacturer wants to service it. Thus far, the EV manufacturers are taking an anti-right-to-repair stance. That can be really off-putting for some. Yes, fewer things break in theory, but when they break, the car can become inoperable in a flash. Just know that going into this.

Out of the slightly over a year of ownership, my car has probably been in the shop for about a month total. Pretty darn odd for a brand new car.

I’m really hoping Chevy does the Blazer SS well and doesn’t water it down as I would love to get into one of those if it’s comparable to my current vehicles performance level.

I looked into an R1T or R1S as well and I really like them and how they are designed. Comfortable to sit in but I really like my apple car play. I don’t think it would be a deal breaker to not have it, but I do like it. If the Blazer doesn’t pan out I will probably get a Rivian. It will likely not be another Mach E.
To my surprise, the Equinox EV looks better in the pictures I have seen than the Blazer EV.

We want a cheap second EV for just around town driving. We may even go used. Right now, the Chevy Bolts are a real good deal but the Mini EV looks like a lot of fun. We wouldn't mind a used BMW i3 but the prices are ridiculous right now.
We have a 2019 E-Golf. Its a fantastic around town driving car. Unfortunately, VW is not bringing the ID.3 to US market.

Some of the EVs I was considering are in no particular order:
Macan EV
Taycan CT4
Audi Etron GT
Genesis GV60
BMW i50

Anything else out there interesting?
I made the move to a BMW i4 M50. I can't say enough good things about that car, including:
  • 3.3 seconds, 0-60 mph
  • Great interior, although a bit smaller than the Mach E (you sit lower too, which isn't a plus for everyone). Seats are more comfortable than the Mach E, especially apparent on longer road trips.
  • Very efficient (not exactly Tesla-level, but I'm getting 3.3-3.4 mi/kWh traveling 75-80 mph
  • The charge port locks when the car is locked (you can't pull out a J1772 or CCS plug when the car is locked)
  • Battery pre-conditioning
  • 210 kW peak charging (the charging curve is a best from 0%-50%, and pretty similar to the Mach E beyond 50%)
  • Great suspension; probably the best among EVs I've driven. Rear suspension is air, front is springs.
The price and specs are pretty similar to a GTPE. With the BMW, some things are better and some things aren't, but it's a great EV alternative.

I have an order in for the Caddy (probably bigger than I want), will put an order in on Macan EV when available although after just getting off the phone with my dealer they said it might be 2024, which is fine by me. When BMW comes out with a CUV or SUV similar in size to MME I would consider that. I had an order for a ix50 that came in but car was too big and I did t take it.

I do like the MME Premium AWD EB but the ride on secondary roads is sub standard, so may look at MME GTPE if I can try one out first and Ford gets its act together on software and battery issues which it probably will.

A truck or an SUV. That Nissan Ariya SUV looks nice. Lightning looks nice for the price point (I'd get a cheaper kit, since I went almost all out on my MME).

Adding a truck is the plan.
We really want our Rivian but it looks like 2024 at current production rates. Lightning would be nice but I want the Pro model that doesn’t look likely until 2023/24.
My son will be driving very soon so later in year or early next a small EV like the Bolt with its price and range looks ideal for him.
Is Rivian having financial issues and laying off workers?

It sounds like my employer is changing our car allowance policy to up the amount and require a European vehicle if so I was thinking about a Polestar 3. Yes I know these are made in China but I think this will sneak in under the radar because there are a few Volvo fans in the company.

Sorry to hear you work for a racist employer.

Well my bronco is finally almost in so will be selling the Mach-e shortly. Probably moving to a rivian R1t whenever my number is called.

Not sure I would go that far but they certainly like premium European vehicles. My ex boss drove a Focus RS and he got ribbed all the time. That was a fun car to drive.

On a side note I am in my first road trip with CR1 wheels and the extra range is nice ?

According to the trip log I drove 3 legs today on the way to chicago. Cruse control set to 75 AC set to 70 and automatic. The first was 179.6miles using 52.5kwh or 3.42 miles / kwh. the second was 98.4miles on 31.1 kwh or 3.2 kwh / mile155miles on 43.5 kwh that's 3.56 miles / kwh in my premium awd extended battery

Whatever I buy next DC charging speed is vitally important.

I have a VW ID4 on order in addition to my 22 Premium MME that I am taking delivery on in the next few weeks. However, I will probably walk away from the ID4 order.

I'm interested in the Chevy Blazer EV

But I'm guessing my next EV hasn't been revealed yet. I will likely wait a few more years for my second EV, to give manufacturers time to build the infrastructure, improve range and charging speeds.
