For me, it has nothing to do with the position of the numbers on the screen, it has to do with what the screen looks like. The layout has the numbers in the center is much better to look at than the one with the useless car icon.

Getting updated software loaded onto cars at the factory is on the order of several magnitudes easier than uploading it to 150,000 cars scattered on this rock from Drumheller, Alberta to Mayo, Florida, from beneath the L in Chicago, to Woolooga Australia, and from Waikii, Hawaii to Ayr Scotland.

I am willing to drive to Drumheller for this. It's not too far away, a good day trip for me. New fast chargers there too.

I haven’t been there in ages. My grandfather was from there. His father was the “first” settler there. I used to fly over it when going from Anchorage to Memphis though.

Not sure where the vitriol is coming from, but this is a problem for some drivers, like my wife, who cannot see the fucking thing, and there was no reason to change something that worked, so there is that.

Why on earth did Ford replace this amazing display with a dull, motionless car screen?! I just don’t get it! I really want to go back to that screen. What do you all think? Is there really no way to return to it?

I am excited to learn from the help of @KenR and a little extra exploration that this display comes about for me when I disable lane assist with button on steering wheel AND have distance indication disabled (Driver Assistance - Pre-collision Assist)!!! Hurray. How cool. Hope you have same result!!!

Turning it off didn't work on mine. My setup screen is also different.
Owning a Mach-e is like using a PC. Owning a Tesla is probably more like using a Mac...

A lot of us don't like or use all the nannies and appreciate having the speedometer centered. Since we don't need or want to be babysat, we'd rather have the animations. ???

I think @Ford Motor Company should let users CUSTOMIZE both screens. Then we can all have what we prefer. I'm no programmer, but I don't think that would be too hard to implement?
