Exactly- thatās why I waited until 2024 to get my MME.I have a different take. What are you driving needs? Are you happy with the state of the current in-cabin tech? Do you value reliability?
There is a lot to be gained by buying the 5th model year of a given generation of car. All the kinks have been worked out. All the improvements that can be made, have been made. Not to mention the mache remains one of the best looking cars on the market even 5 years later.
In the 2025, you get the 2nd gen rear motor, and a better tuned suspension, for a price substantially lower than for first few years. Plus all the changes they made along the way. You have to deal with none of the recalls of the early years, and the software will be as up to date as possible.
You can always waitā¦.and waitā¦..and wait. And you never know if the future will include the things you want (like CarPlay). Maybe the next gen will look more like a Tesla to maximize efficiency and peoplesā unnecessary obsession with range. In the end, itās still a car. If you need a car in the near future and this car works for your use case, go for it.
I am speaking as a 23.5 GTPE owner and a ā24 Lightning owner. I donāt regret not waiting for the next gen. In fact, I wouldnāt buy the first year of the next gen for the very reasons I discussed above.
