Yes and I'll bet the EA techs were using the one available from Tesla.I'm not too worried about adapter risk... You can get a CCS to Tesla adapter that lets you charge a Tesla at an EA station today... I first saw one at an EA station more than a year ago being used by the techs fixing the EA hardware... while charging their Tesla.
I don't recall hearing about any fires from these... They are only carrying current about 6 inches.
EA and EVGo have both banned the use of non-OEM adapters:
