Some more data from today's commute. No to light wind. No AC use in the morning, AC use in the evening. Set my cruise at 79 mph(80 mph actual).

If all highway driving at 70 is your normal route, then I understand the disappointment. I have a standard range battery that has not gotten the software update to release the extra electrons yet, so my range is 214. I took a long drive that was a 200 mile round trip last week, and the range was right on with that. The range is lower when it is hot or cold, and lower if you do not use one pedal driving and have some stop and go driving. Not a big deal unless you run out of battery. I usually do not drive more than 50 miles per day and I charge up overnight to 90%. I also have a Ford Flex that cannot get 25 mpg even with cruise control on at 65 mph. Estimates for EVs or ICE cars are always best case scenarios. The solar panels on my roof are also not producing what they should today, because it is foggy.

most of us with the MME have similar comments related to the vehicle performance. I wish Ford would have been more open to the fluctuations in range. EVs are a different beast for sure and I believe a generalize statement of mileage/range may vary with driving conditions should not cover it for the average consumer. My MME is the extended range of 88kwh with a range of 306. when I purchase the vehicle in July of 2022 the range was spot on until it hit Mid-late October when temps started to go below 50. Additionally the vehicle has a significant issue with the GPS mapping feature, which was effectively taken care off after damn near 3-weeks of shop time as they were trouble shooting the problem - note they were one step away from replacing the primary computer. not sure whether it ultimately was the weather in October or if it was the trouble shooting, but range plummeted to roughly 220 miles. Now that we are getting into the spring range has been increasing with the latest at 270 miles for a 100% charge.
from my view, Ford new damn well the importance of the 300 mile range from a marketing standpoint. Despite the 3-weeks of shop time and getting use the process of trouble-shooting problems for the MME I love the car. I just wish Ford would have been honest with the mileage range. Hope I'll hit the 300 range by end of April-May. its not like Oregon is at the north pole.

I don't think "honest" is a fair complaint. It is an honest range estimate, commonly achieved in normal conditions. What we have here is an EV education deficit among the public.

Could manufacturers do a better job of informing the public about how EVs work? Sure. But I really wouldn't even put that on the manufacturers, who's job it is sell their products. It's not unique to any one manufacturer, it's simply the reality of EVs. Information that's readily available, and that consumers should inform themselves of before buying an EV from anyone.

Cold temps significantly reduce efficiency.
High speed significantly reduces efficiency.
Heavy use of cabin heating significantly reduces efficiency.

That does seem pretty low for a RWD car. Especially compared to the 3.1 miles/kwh that @Triggerhappy007 is showing off at 80 mph. I have to wonder about the temperature difference, preconditioning, or other variables between the two of you.

Pretty impressive result for an AWD 4X, 250mi at 75 mph
I believe it. My Mach e gt averages 2.3 to 2.4 in winter. But I had day in the 60s and I got almost 3.0 on the highways averaging 75 the speed limit here. No heat obviously.

so I expect close to 240 minimum with range worst case in summer. I am probably low balling it because I am usually between 200-210 in winter even 225 depending on weather I guess but haven’t had too many good days yet. It told me 225 the drive after I averaged 3.0 since it was 3.0 only one day obviously it’s not gonna go to full range given majority of days we’re cold days.

He's in OK, I'm in TX so almost the same temperature. I don't precondition. It could be driving style, but I'm definitely not conservative.

I've stopped looking at this. It spoils your day. Just fill up overnight and take no notice. Much happier now.

Having said that I did notice that the car said 250 miles range when I left home yesterday and while the wife was talking to a neighbour on the way home I checked the trip. I had done 72 miles and range was still 207 - On the way home mls/kWh was 4.1. (Low 50s here in UK). OK so the car also said I set out at 95% so range should be more than 250 (100% should be 370) but 4.1 * 90 = 369. So my range is OK just the guessometer that's crap. If I have to I just use the mls/kWh figure and battery % and ignore the rest, its good for mental arithmetic skills.

But nearly all journeys I do these calcs are unnecessary so I don't do them any more.

The real "problem" is that there's just dramatically broader variability to drive efficiency in a BEV than there is in an ICE. And it's impossible for the GOM to know how the car is going to be driven.

While the MPG in an ICE car rarely moves more than +/- 10% for most typical drives, in a BEV the MPK can easily be +/- 40% from such routine things as speed differences and seasonal weather.
