Why the hate?

All I know is that I ordered my car in January but don't have it yet, so my 17 year daughter has only seen the picture of the car that Dad is getting. The other day, we passed an MME as it was merging on to the highway we were on. My daughter exclaimed "Did you see that Jaguar - it's sooooooo pretty!!!!" I told her that wasn't a Jaguar badge on the front - it was a mustang, and that was the car that we are getting. Mustang/no Mustang but it's teenage girl approved!

I was waiting to pick up my daughter from school yesterday and as the kids were being released, I overheard one kid saying "It looks like they copied a Tesla and dropped it a little bit" which I found odd because I don't think it really looks like a Tesla in the slightest, but hey... 8th graders. Then immediately it was followed up by a kid who came up to my window, gave me a thumbs up and said "I really like your car!"

In doubt, go with kids' opinions.

I truly don't understand the hate people have for the mach-e. There seems to be extreme sides of either loving it or hating it with most people being the latter. I've had people tell me it isn't a car, send me mean memes about it being the ugliest mustang ever made, etc. Why? It isn't our fault Ford decided to put a Mustang badge on it.

Bottom Line? We’re living in a time in which the internet and social media allow people who have never personally stood up to anyone in their lives to say things to and about others that they would never say in person. Just got to roll with it.

I do come across a few anti-ev people... but they seem to be astonishingly uniformed.

I find this to be the case for most people who are “anti” anything….

Most people don't care, its just an appliance to get you from point A to B.
The hater tends to fall into a few groups.

1) Mustang worshippers (purist). Its sacrilegious to call a 4 door SUV a mustang. They do have a point.

2) ICE bros. All electric cars are bad and by extension their owners are tree hugging vegans wussies.

3) Tesla Bros (a very small portion of all tesla owners, and only exist on the interweb). Protective of their brand and any challenger to Tesla is an assault on their manhood.

I had one guy just cut me off and insist that pending SHTF/war event will render ALL EVs useless and he'll drive his gas car. I'm not sure how he thinks he's getting gas from a pump if there's such an event. I can't drill a hole in my back yard and extract gas - I can on the other hand generate electricity a number of ways on my own (solar, wind, hydro, a frigging bike with a generator, etc).

Yeah, good luck arguing with those guys, logic won't work.

I still laugh with the Walking Dead and other apocalypse fiction where they're still syphoning gas out of cars 5 years later. Dude, even if you can find gas in the apocalypse, fuel's terribly unstable and totally useless 5 years on.

Wrong! Everyone I know runs out and puts seafoam in their gas tank to protect against such a thing should it ever happen with said gas in their tank right now! (Actually I lterally probably know one person who might even know what seafoam or any additive to stabilize fuel is or does)

Only negative thing I have heard from a friend was that he wasn't giving up his pistons because he likes the feel and sound they emitted. He also spends quite a bit of money keeping those pistons running nice. I'll let him drive my Mach-E when I get it and see what he thinks about the instant torque of an electric motor.

I put Stabil in my lawnmower fuel every fall so that it is fine over the winter. Used to do this for my motorcycle, when I had one.

I have only owned my MME “Monkey” for a week.
I LOVE IT. (Most important)
Some of my coworkers like to try and rile me up by saying it’s not a mustang. (1 of them owned a 1970s) and I use the line I learned from this forum. “Original Mustang came with a generator. Did your 1970s one come with that equipment…?”We laugh and move on with life.
I get stopped multiple times though to answer questions and most tell me they like the looks over Tesla.
There are probably some haters out there who have nothing better to do. But I will continue to enjoy my daily driver!

I have had multiple people stop and ask me about my Mach e out of the blue. I tell them it is the best built car l have owned, solid no rattles, great acceleration and comfortable with a tight suspension. They tell me the car looks amazing. No one has voiced otherwise. It is one of the few cars that I have owned that brings that attention, along with a Mustang GT, Thunderbird super coupe and a Taurus SHO. The ones that try to pass me on the right have a chance to see my license plate with the iconic mustang rear lights. When Shelby saw the the original Mustang at introduction he thought it was a great secretary’s car. The Mach e is in a long line of car evolution that builds on the past. Those that tear it down are dinosaurs, living in a different time; to each it’s own.
