Window switch peeling?

Mine peeled up on the drivers side cluster for drivers window. Dealership replaced with no problem.

Anyone able to get a dealer to do it outside of warranty ? Looking at doing it myself too the part is cheap.

It was a problem on my 2021 Ford Escape. In the Escape forums there were many reports of the "chrome" delaminating and references to it happening on other models. Apparently Ford uses the same inferior supplier for all its window switches. But you would think after all these years and all these complaints that Ford would switch designs and/or suppliers. (And here I thought I had gotten away from this particular annoyance when I traded in the Escape on the MME.)

When I was getting mine replaced, there was a question if it was under warranty or not (in was). I looked at their parts section and the switch was $8 US. The 'hard part' would be just pulling off the door panel. When they had put in the wrong switch, I let them know while still in the parking lot, and they came out pushed the inside door panel up, reached under and replaced the switch.

Took all of 5 minutes.

The service advisor said several of my switches would be replaced under warranty but I haven't taken it in yet.

Noticed the same problem today. 2022 Select. Will bring it to the dealer.

Dealer fixed mine for cost of parts $18 while getting he latest recall
