Well, this is a certainly new one for me. In the dead center of my driver's side windshield is a spot about the size of a golf ball that bends light like a fishbowl. Anywhere else and I wouldn't care or notice it. I'm assuming something was messed up when they applied the sound absorbing film? Anyone else notice something like this?

I can't really get a picture that captures it but it's obvious when driving and now that I know it's there I of course notice it more every second.

Was this defect there when you took delivery?

If not, then have you had the windshield recall performed?

I think you have a de lamination issue. I found the easier way to capture it is to find a tall chain link fence. It has repetitive pattern and easier to find issue . Get a felt pin and put 4 small spots around the de-lamination and then take a photo . Making sure photo show issue, if not take again. Go by dealership and ask for service manager.

Hello! Send us a private message with your MachE’s VIN and current mileage. Allow me to see what I can do to assist. Thanks!

I'll try this. It's pretty obvious if it's sunny outside (which was a rarity here until recently) so I don't believe they will be able to claim it's normal or somehow not there.

It's possible, I noticed it shortly after taking delivery but it was the dealer's daughter's DD for a while before I bought it, they were asking an absurd ADM. When it's cloudy or night time it's not obvious and all our test drives were done in those times. It's possible the windshield recall was done prior to us getting it but it's not showing as having any recalls now.

It’s either the UV laminate deformed or less likely badly poured glass. Get full glass coverage and a rock and fix it yourself

Lol

tempting but it's under full-warranty and doesn't really affect driving outside of the fact my anal retentive side is a bit triggered. I was mostly curious if someone else had had a similar issue. Not like I'm losing sleep about it and my wife hasn't noticed (it's her car theoretically)

The goldfish's notoriously short (but also under-estimated by public opinion apparently) memory probably makes it a terrible chauffeur...
