I read a lot of negative posts (stuck 1.7.1 looking at you!), but I thought I'd post a positive one...

Dropped my car off last Thursday for the roof and windshield recall. Loaner car was ready and waiting. They had a few other Mach-e's in for the recall also.

Got the call today it was ready. Took a total of 8 days - mostly due to the glass company not having appointments available for a few days. Picked the car up today. Could not tell any work had been done, except for a suspiciously clean windshield and a very faint smell of glue. No marks on the liner. Everything put back together*. No obvious misalignment of the gaps. Really happy with Mike Bass Ford's work.

*The reason it's only almost perfect was they had to order a replacement for the grab handle above the driver door that will take a few days to get in. They must have broken in at some point in the process. They'll call me when it's in and it will only take a few minutes to install.
That's great to hear!

Aha! Probably location of chip would be a factor too.
is this the "industry chip problem" I keep seeing people refer to? ?

I just dropped off mine this morning. ETA is tomorrow (a little too quick...hope they don't forget the glue). The only thing got me worry is the service advisor's last parting words are "We might break the glass and it will take a few weeks to complete if that happens." o_O

I wish you best of luck. Hope you get your Mach-E back tomorrow.

Just got my Mach-E windshield (select model, no glass roof) recall completed last week. I was hesitating in getting it done because if the windshield cracks during removal, there's a long lead time to get another windshield. However, the shop told me that every Mach-E windshield that they pulled out showed super thin layer of glue (hence the recall). It will be a problem down the road in the future or potentially if it gets into an accident. Thankfully, there was no issue and I got the car back. The dealership's owner also has a body shop (greater Los Angeles area). They already done a few Mach-Es so they seem to feel pretty comfortable taking the glass off now.

My 2021 Space White Premium ER RWD had the windshield and roof recall done yesterday, May 2, 2022, by Fremont Ford. Everything looks perfect to me. As I mentioned in my earlier post, Fremont Ford's glass subcontractor (West Coast Auto Glass in Hayward CA) would not perform the windshield recall when I first took it in on March 30th because the windshield had a small chip in it. I was able to get my insurance company to cover the cost of a new windshield (less my $100 deductible) and it took 2 weeks for the new windshield to arrive. I dropped off my vehicle on Friday at 9:00 AM and picked up my Mach-E on Monday at 9:00 AM. Based on my experience, I would recommend Fremont Ford for the recall work. Tony Gomez was my service advisor and he handled everything perfectly.

Taking mine in next week for the recall work, will post about the Capital Expwy Ford Service after. Since they got the seat really dirty last time I'm going to get some "cheap" generic seat covers.

I'd probably be better off just dropping the headliner myself.

@VegStang How did Capital Ford perform with the windshield and roof recall?

They did surprisingly well, only 2 small spots on the headliner, and some debris on the dash from the windshield reinstall. I needed to clean both the inside of the windshield and pano glass as the glass company left them with residue and what looked like some spots of adhesive that came off fairly easily.

I did install "inexpensive" seat covers on the car before taking it over so I think that prevented issues that I have seen when taking it in previously. Better safe than sorry. I took it in on Tuesday and picked it up around noon on Friday, so a tad longer than 2 days but not bad- they also replaced the right front ½ shaft and attempted to correct the loss of lane centering. Tech stated that after recalibrating the cameras the lane centering was working properly, but he was incorrect (service advisor should have noted that one of the modules still needed an update.)

Happy that my fears of a dirty headliner or scratched trim panels did not come to pass.
