I recently attempted to charge my Mach E at a BP Pulse station. It was showing to be "in-network" on the FordPass. However I was never able to activate the charging from there. At the end I ended up charging using my credit card which was billed £15 for what was 13% charge, which was less than £5.
I am a bit lost auto what went on and how I can get my money back.
Being "in-network" the rate should have been completely different, and not only that, I should have been able to activate it from the app.

Anyhelp/experience/advice/views would be very welcome!

In the simplest of terms you were charged correctly as you presented yourself as a non BP Pulse / FordPass subscriber when you used your Debit / Credit Card as the payment method.

The simplest way to ensure you benefit from the “In Network” (Ford Blue Oval Charging Network) prices is to use the supplied RFID card. This would have been left in your glovebox at delivery, and you will need to follow the instructions to register the card to your account. Once setup you use that card to pay for your charging and you get the discounted rates for one year.

If you can’t find it in the car or with the handover docs then ask your dealer for one - they should have a supply.

Right!
Many thanks! I assumed that once all is properly registered from the app I should do all from there.
Now I know better - much appreciated!
Still, it makes no sense for the same charger to display a non-discounted charge of £4.80 and to debit £15 from the account. That appears wrong any which way you look at it.
I will now put the FordPass card in the glove compartment so I can use it in the future and take advantage of the better rates.
Still I do feel cheated.

The whole bit about what you’d been charged against what you expected wasn’t 100% clear in your original post. I think I get what you’re talking about now - and the £15 should only be a pre authorisation amount rather than an actual charge. Most EV networks (and a lot of petrol stations) now use these pre authorising fees to check you card, and they will amend the figure to the actual cost later in the day or overnight. Keep an eye on your statement - I’m willing to bet you’ll only end up paying the £4.80 rather than the £15.

If you use the Ford Card there‘s no pre-auth check and you’ll get billed to the registered card details on your Ford account.

One other thing to look out for is many DC Rapid chargers will bill you an overstay fee of £10 if you leave the car plugged in for more than 90mins. This is to stop people hogging the rapid chargers as technicaly nobody really needs more than 90mins on one of those.

Many thanks again, @Wonky_Donkey !

Just used the card at the charger and all went smoothly.
I noticed a very sharp drop in charging after 80% at a 50kW PB Pulse station.
From what I saw on the internet - admittedly the videos were mostly in the US - the new software after July 2021 was amended to drop to about 40-50kW, not all the way down to 7kW. I did not expect to not see any drop after 80% on a 50kW charging point (not that I planned to charge further, but after the car reached that level it automatically notified me how long till 100%, which was 5 more hours).
Any advice on this?

BTW The car was built 18.08.2021 and delivered 14.02.2022

Your understanding is incorrect. Cars built in first half of 2021 can get the update. 2nd half cars not yet.

Stop watching videos and read here. ;)

Oh! I see.
Yes, I am trying to navigate through the topics here, but it proves a challenge - all UK-based stuff is in one branch and one can never tell by the subject of a thread what topics it ends up covering - much like this one I guess.
Thank you for the advice though. I take it there is no date for that update quite yet or you would have mentioned it.

@Ford Motor Company & @Ford Team : Rather annoying all that - to sell a car with older software and diminished functionality compared to earlier models that are actually updated. Not amused.
