Drum Roll, please.....
The insurance agency was SafeCo
I have a bad back and have been actively treating it (was even considering a cortisone shot), when I got rear-ended on a freeway (it was stop and go traffic, so it wasn't more than 5mph hit). While the hit wasn't bad, it still was enough to make my back hurt again. I called SafeCo and my was told over the phone by my agent that he doesn't believe me that my back to hurt from such a small hit - Essentially, I was accused of filing a false claim to claim injury for a bigger payout. I was completely caught off guard by that accusation that lost my ability to speak... Soon after I dropped them and went with another insurance agency.

This is another reason why I think that insurance is a scam. They charge you an arm and a leg and fight hand and tooth to not deliver on their promise to cover you. Lastly, once they do pay up, they jack up your prices because now you are a "liability"...

Not quite ALL the cruise...
While still in motion you can change your setting for cruise to switch from "Adaptive" back to the regular kind and that will work just fine. I did that a couple of days ago when we got a little snow and some slush built up on that same panel while on a bit of a longer drive. I got the warning and lost adaptive function and that other stuff. When I stopped at a coffee shop I wiped the slush off the panel (not much--as you say, it's sensitive) all returned to normal. Fortunately I knew where the radar was located.

Once you're used to adaptive, you have to be alert when switching back to the old-fashioned cruise. It'll run right into the back of someone if you're not paying attention! ?
Outstanding intel, Ty!

FYI… my 2021 Job 1 just received the latest V7 update. And though I just finally ‘gave up’ on my privately funded fixes to the front panel (still getting intermittent Errors) & filed a claim with our insurance company (Westfield)… now, post latest upgrade, ZERO errors in 2 weeks! No doubt in my mind that the new BC software ABSOLUTELY changed the sensitivity of the front proximity sensors. I actually just asked the insurance company if I can return their $ (~$3K) and cancel the claim… the said, Of Course! I’ll wait another month or so before believing it truly is all remedied!! But this is absolute proof to me that the BC software has changed for the better!

Same with health insurance.

Quick question. I literally just whacked a raccoon about an hour ago on the way home from Caitlin Clark's record breaking performance. The front louver on the passenger side are destroyed and in pieces on the garage floor, and probably some back on the road as well. I live in extreme northern MO. Temps in the mid 30's to 40's at the moment. Can I safely charge? I know the louvers go through the motions when I plug in. I haven't even attempted this yet with them damaged.

Thoughts? Oh and I'll be on the phone to SF tomorrow. I've got about 45 miles of range remaining and the dealer is about 75 miles away. Of course.

I think the most important part is them being open rather than closed so if one piece broke off and basically it’s stuck open, I don’t think you have to worry. I’ll let someone else with more knowledge comment though. I’m just basing my assumption on the fact the entire point is airflow and if it’s open, then airflow should be fine.

Thank you. More than half of it is gone. The nose cone is cracked too. I called the dealer, they had NO idea and certainly didn't offer to try to find out.

So, here's an unusual one. Wife driving 23' red Prem AWD Ext one morning on 45mph road near our home when a Canadian Goose (yes, you read that correctly) flew in front of the car, went "thump, thump, thump" under the car and out the back.
...

Filed an online claim with our insurance (whom I will not name until this gets sorted). Sent requested pictures and wife had a phone interview with an "adjuster". No one came out to look at the vehicle at any time. Couple of weeks later we get a registered fedex letter stating that our claim was denied. The only reason given was a "cut and paste" section that talked about "withholding information", "making fraudulent claims" and making false statements. Apparently because there were no feathers, body parts or blood (only one tiny spot in the purple area but that could have been a juicy bug) then their claim is that most likely we hit a curb or went over a high speed bump too fast... REALLY?
The insurance dealer was right. Unless you were in Canada you didn't hit a Canadian Goose. What you hit was a Canada Goose. Your insurance claim was clearly fraudulent as to hit a Canadian Goose would have meant you were really in Canada when the accident occurred.

Glad it worked out in the end.

Yes, you can charge safely. The car may just take longer than usual to precondition to the proper temperature with the vents open.

I charged just fine late yesterday. The remaining louvers did their pre-charge routine and everything else went just fine.
