Prototype Mach-E (in Rapid Red Metallic) showed up at work today

There was a prototype Mach-E at work today. I got a shot of me in the black shirt standing next to it for scale (I’m 5’11”).

Was't thinking about that . . . my state requires front plate. Absolutely that is going to suck.
Oh well. Still real cool.

Great pics ... I will try to lease one around March 2021 when my current lease is due.

I have a front plate on my Mustang now that I can remove for pics and does not use the huge bracket. I would imagine a third party vendor will create one for the Mach e as well.

She's a beauty - thanks for the shot standing next to it; that helps to gauge how big it is.

Nice photos... I'm guessing by the badging on the door and the wheels this a Premium model with standard battery and rear wheel drive. Can't tell if it has the panoramic roof

It does not have the glass roof, it’s painted black to mimic it though. My speculation is that this prototype is a Select model with an appearance package or just a mix of parts. It does not have the 360 cameras or panoramic roof that a normal Premium would have.

Bummer that they painted the roof black - I am ordering the select in red, so it would have been nice to see exactly what it would have looked like.

That car was born to wear red. Reminds my of the Candy Apple Red Honda mini bike I had when I was 14yo (early 70's). Memories of my youth.

One thing I'm not so sure about though is the high-gloss black trim. I love the red/black combo, but the high gloss black looks a little too plastic-like. And I suspect it's going to show every spec of dirt/dust. I think I'd prefer the matte black that's down on the lower front grill around the wheel well edging too.

From what I've read, that paint scheme would be consistent with all trim levels. There is only a thin line of color over the windows down to the rear deck to keep the lines of the Mustang couple, so the roof will be dark.

I am still trying to find out when and where I can see the Mach E in Southern California, any clue, thanks?
