Ordered a Lightning remote from eBay and programmed it for frunk release.

Took about 5 tries, but after starting up the MME then shutting down, opening then closing the door, then followed the procedure sent by the eBay seller - immediate pairing was a success.

I programmed a lighting remote by following this video. It worked the first try. MME fob and lighting fob have different FCC id but that does not seem to be a problem.



However, I could not program a lighting fob on an Edge. I think the frunk button is not compatible with a remote start button.

New key fob is the same size as the original 2 MME keys.

Has different back though...

Ford Mustang Mach-E Frunk release 3rd key fob programmed! Makes for easier frunk access using the remote instead of the app or from inside... IMG_0859.JPG
That’s the back of the original (MY21 Job 1) fob

We all already did this last year, correct(?), there are already a number of long older threads on using F-150 lightning fob for Mach-E to get frunk button I believe, it's just a new experience for newbie folx to the Forum.

Indeed. Not to mention, if there was a 1 thread per topic rule, the mach-e forum would have less than one page of listings.

There would be two pages on the Mach-E forum, with the second page consisting entirely of these listings…

The one I bought is great, except every once in a while it doesn't work. I don't know what's going on with it. It starts working again after I open the frunk via some other means, so I'm not too concerned 😀

If only this would give @Jimrpa (and the rest of us job 1 owners) a working frunk release!
To be honest, I’m 90% of the way there. I can open the frunk from the door pillar and the screen. I just can’t open it from FordPass (and I don’t carry keys and refuse to start just for this). If I could figure out the magic phrase that would get ford to enable the FordPass button on the back end, everything would be set.

Interesting. I can open the frunk from the door pillar but don't see anything on the screen. Is your screen icon up with the tailgate open icon on the first controls page?
