My wife's mother passed away last Sunday and the funeral is tomorrow 340 miles away. My wife wanted to take the Mach-E and we had the A2Z adapter on order but it wasn't scheduled to be shipped until the 20th.

I called @A2ZEV and explained the situation and they overnighted the adapter to us for $15 so right off the bat they were really helpful and wanted to help us with our situation. Last night we went to a Tesla Supercharger to test the adapter and I am glad I did because at first it wouldn't lock, I tried multiple stalls and every one of them just wouldn't lock in. After playing with it for about 30 minutes I found that the charger needed to be inserted into the adapter quickly with a snap or click sound, once that happened the lock could be engaged. After that the charging was seamless, I just plugged into the car and the charge started.

Overall the company is great, the adapter works, the construction is solid and feels substantial with nice texturing, the learning curve on how to connect the adapter is my only complaint with the need to do a quick insert not being called out in the instructions provided.

Thanks for the heads up. I just got an email that they were shipping my order out today. Looking forward to testing it out next week.

The fast shipping sound good. My order took two days just to go from Quebec to Plattsburgh on its way much further south.

I received mine on Tuesday and had the same slight hiccup with not pushing hard enough until you hear the click, but after that it was seamless.
Access to the Tesla superchargers has upped my nearby fast charger availability from 7 to 19. It’s beautiful.

Most of that time is for clearing customs. Mine shipped on Monday, supposed to arrive in south Florida tomorrow.

I agree with these comments. I have to push mine much harder than I would expect to get it to latch properly.

I’ve used it four times. The first three times I had no problems with the supercharger syncing up with my ford account and charging without doing anything else after plugging it in (once it was properly latched). This last time, I was getting consistent charge faults, three or four attempts. It finally worked when I initiated the session through the Tesla app.

I’ve gotta say that while I don’t have an A2Z adapter, everything I’ve heard about the company impresses me. Are they perfect? No, but it seems they work really hard to do the right thing.

Lectron, on the other hand… ?

Sorry for your loss.

I'm glad you got it sorted out. I think a lot of people are failing to insert it in a firm quick manor. You might consider spraying the ends with a bit of dry lubricant or pure silicone spray. Spraying the outside of the CCS end will help it go into your Mach E. Spraying the inside of the J3400 end will help get it out as some people are having the Tesla end stick inside the adapter.

Finally, don't forget to fully secure that manual latch on the bottom when you attach the Tesla end into the adapter.

Thank you for your condolences. I am mostly posting this because when I was searching I didn't find anything that really explained what I needed to do until I watched this State Of Charge video and I am just trying to help anyone else out that may encounter this issue.

I have been told that the Tesla Charge Update for the car isn't necessary. You can initiate a charge through the Tesla App even though your car isn't updated. I don't have an adapter so haven't been able to confirm this, but the others on this forum who told me claimed to have personal experience so I believe them.

Right, the Tesla charge update just makes Plug and charge work with Tesla. If you have a Tesla account and use that to activate, you are just dealing directly with Tesla for payment rather than paying FordPass in order to pay Tesla. ??
