It’s been a crazy 72 hours, but all on a good note.
I have an order for a Premium AWD extended range Mach E but I became aware of a First Edition that became available down in Naples, FL.
The dealer, Tamiami Ford was fantastic to work with from start to finish. No pressure, easy to work with and genuinely nice people. No ADM or games either, which I was surprised and glad about. Pete Groll was my sales rep and Maria Castro was the internet sales rep.
Now onto the Mach E itself.... it’s a carbonized grey first edition and it drove superbly 200 miles back home. No range anxiety at all and it averaged 2.7 miles per kWh going 75 mph in rain almost half the way. Pass as a key works very well so far, as does the home charging (charging on a regular outlet until my electrician can add the 14-50 NEMA outlet in my garage.
Just went to an electrify America station to top up to 80% and it took about 25 minutes to add 45 kWh to the battery. I walked over to Panera and had a nice coffee and watched the Mach E get its own jolt too lol. The EA station worked perfectly with plug and charge working on first try.
Knock on wood but so far the experience has been terrific. I wanted to share because it does look like Ford is working out the initial kinks. This Mach E was built on Jan 12th, so that may explain a lot too.
I can’t say how impressive enough this vehicle is. Ford knocked it out of the park with this one.
Now I unfortunately have to tell my local dealer what I’ve done and cancel my existing order. I hope they’ll understand the opportunity to grab a First Edition just couldn’t be passed up and my service experience there won’t suffer from cancelling.
