Focus on finding someone that has to have your car. Don't put in the post "or best offer". That means "I will take less than my asking price".

I sold my ten year old 2013 F-150 for $24,900, when the highest offer was thousands less prior to finding a buyer who fell in love with "the exact truck my Dad has in Wisconsin".

I sold my 2021 Mach-E in July 2022 via autotrader (I think, I can go look if you want to know) to a dealer 5 hours away.

Thanks Rick. Since this post I did get a couple of online quotes - Carvana was almost $2k higher than the dealer offered. FYI, Cars.com was more than $1k lower. KBB's Instant Cash offer was just under Carvana's. Funny thing about that one though - the dealer I used participates in the KBB program and someone contacted me who didn't realize I had just bought their car but turned down their offer for mine. They were a little surprised when I got them up to speed...

First let me say I love this car! So much fun to own and drive. In fact, I'm on my 2nd Mach E GT, a '22 non PE (first was a '21 GT, also a non PE which I sold mostly because the dealer offered me more than I paid for it - it was during that time when they were hard to find in the early summer of '22). Anyway...

I'm considering replacing my '22 GT with either a '24 or '25. The improvements besides being new (my current 3 year/36000 mile warranty will be up in November) are these:
* more refined systems meaning less issues (hopefully, fingers crossed)
* Magna ride suspension
* improved power limiting function
* better stock wheel choices
* air cooled seats ('25 only)
* heat pump ('25 only)

There may be other things I'm forgetting, but the first three are the most significant. The last two are more "nice to have" although I'm a bit on the fence about the heat pump. I also don't love the shifter moving to the steering column on the '25, but that's minor. I might even go for the bronze appearance package on a newer GT.

The big downside is it would cost me in the neighborhood of $25k to upgrade to new, a little less if I found a used '24 that I like. That's a big pill to swallow just for that list of improvements.

So the alternative is to keep the car and maybe do the following mods...
* replace the springs with the Rally springs - according to threads on the forum it does improve the ride, although not all the way to having Magna ride.
* is it even possible to order the parts for the bronze appearance package and install them? My '22 is Rapid Red, and although Ford doesn't offer the Bronze Appearance package with the current red, I think it would look really good. It'd be kinda cool to have that combo when it doesn't currently come that way.
* if I couldn't get the bronze appearance package parts, just replace the wheels

I'm guessing those three would be $3000 at most? That would leave the air cooled seats and heat pump which I could do without, but...

That 5 second limiter on WOT. There's been threads as recent as this month about whether Ford will ever allow the pre '24 GT's to get the new limiter settings, but it feels like it might never happen. If it never does, I wonder what the chances are that the car could be modded to address that? Maybe replace the relevant parts with their '24 and newer counterparts (like the new rear motor and whatever else would be required to safely change it) somewhere down the road?

Just thinking out loud here and any comments or insights welcome.
Deals are not good right now. I’d wait till end of year and see what’s cooking

Actually I started this thread over a month ago and, as I just wrote a little earlier this afternoon, I just pulled the trigger on a great deal for a '24 GT. 25% off of MSRP is the best deal I've ever negotiated on a new car. The dealer even admitted it was an "ugly" deal (for them) but they were motivated because: the car had been on their lot for a while; it's near the end of the month; they are having a Memorial Day sale; and I've bought several cars from them over the years, including two Mach E's.
