Nice deal for you for sure.

Honestly don’t love that the carfax is clean. While it’s good for you for resale, it makes me wonder if there is some insurance shadiness going on.
These cars never made it to a dealership, Ford offloaded them directly to the wholesale market. If anyone did anything shady it would have been Ford. But since they have factory warranty and everything I doubt they would risk that.

My quote was $12k to fix. $59,590 sticker and I paid $27k. Clean carfax btw.
It’s clean car fax because no one fixed it YET. Once you fix it, it won’t be clean anymore. I promise you that. You would need to find a very shady body shop to do it under the table. And it is highly unethical for all involved.

My bank and insurance company know about the damage, and I don't care to fix it really. The roof is ugly but that's about it. I traded in my 13 year old mustang and will likely drive this one for 10+ years too.

Cheers brother. I hope you enjoy your vehicle. It appears that the damage you have is more fixable with paint less dent repair than the OP’s. Also, while I wouldn’t buy it, I do like the sand color on your Mach-E!

Makes sense. I still wish it was reported because at some point a future owner may either fix it or it makes it SUPER easy to try insurance fraud. Good that your insurance company knows about it at least.

I was hoping to find out who brought the other one! In what state are you located?
I guess since you’re in Texas, it’s unlikely we could reunite the two cars. Either way, what are your plans for your Rally?

It's possible that the carfax will get updated since the insurance company has the paperwork on the damage.

Both of these were fantastic deals. Sounds like you'll drive yours as is. I think it would be a fun project to see how close to perfect you could get it over a few years at a much lower cost than the $12K quote.

It might take putting any ideas of close to perfect on the back burner. I'd be curious if I could do that. But putting it in unbridled and stomping the pedal could help cure that as well.

By My car finally arrived yesterday! I was out of town and my wife took the delivery. I was busy washing it and taking pictures today. I’ll post some in a little bit.

I bought a hood yesterday and having it shipped from California. It looks like it’s the same color of black as my car and it’s in very good shape with only a couple of scratches and a little dent. Does the group know if there’s more than one color of black in the Mustang Mach-E? After I fix the dent and scratches I was thinking of wrapping it in a carbon fiber wrap.

The pix didn't seem to come through. Anyhow, congrats on delivery! 😊🐩

There is only one shade of black up through 2025, so unless there is severe fading the hood should be the same as your car. 😁🐩

I'm curious if you have a plan for the different phases of the repairs

If it was me though I would wait on collecting the cleanest used parts I could find unless you find it local and avoid shipping costs.

Especially if in driving distance a yard gets a shadow black vehicle they might have half the doors and fenders you need depending on where it was hit LOL.

The Copart website usually has pictures of where the vehicle is hit.

I might want to go see the door ding guys to get estimates on the rear quarters and see how many dings from each rear quarter they can get out.

At a body shop the rear quarters would be the most expensive part of the repair. I think they would have to cut them off and weld new ones on?

But over time you should be able to get four doors and possibly two front fenders on the used market. Still might need some body shop to mount these expertly.

But you've got almost 5 years of shadow black vehicles on the market the only risk is fading or paint matching for the factory different years might not be exact.

This is a fun project, it really sparked my imagination good luck with it!
