You can *finally* start the car / climate with Siri!

Looks like the new Ford app finally has iOS shortcuts! This means you can do things like lock, unlock, or start the car with Siri.

Here’s how: open the shortcuts app, add a new shortcut, search for the Ford app in the actions list, select it, and then tap “Start Vehicle” as the action.

Siri will run any shortcut if you just say it’s name. So now we need to rename the shortcut at the top to “start the car”. Now, anytime you say “Siri, start the car”, it should start the climate system.

Thank you ford devs for finally adding this feature! I’ve been waiting a long time for this.

Finally! They’ve had the lock and unlock shortcuts for a while, but remote start has always been missing or not working until now. Glad to see it’s finally been added.

You can also add it directly to your Lock Screen or control center if desired:

I haven’t upgraded to the new app yet, it still works. Was present past couple versions but has never worked until now.

lock/unlock have been available for awhile. But FINALLY start has been added!!! I can get rid of all the convoluted shortcut workarounds (that stopped working)

Shortcuts can run when the phone is locked.

Home won't open my garage door unless the phone is unlocked either traditionally or tethered via CarPlay. It's still plenty useful through Siri. I certainly wouldn't want just anyone to be able to tell Siri to unlock my car or open my garage door.

Just confirming that the "Start Vehicle" action is referring to starting the climate in the MME, and not "Start Charging", like the Start button in the older versions of the app did?

Yep, been in my Control Center as well prior to the app update. Had some widgets set up as well with it.
