The only change I see with 6.1 is that now it thinks my car is parked at Ford HQ. Maybe it repossessed itself? lol

I can't login to the app v6.0.0 on Android 12. When I click the login button it sends me to some blank embedded webpage that then goes to a edgesuite.com error page. I tried deleting the app, shutting phone off, turning on, reinstalling, and it still does the same thing. Great job Ford.

Yes, I'm curious of the more to it. Since it's now next week from the original next week when Brian (not Ai) from Ford said last week oh sorry it's going to be next week!
I really hope I didn't hype this up too much. It's mostly contextual, but good info nonetheless.

Post it already! 🤪

tbh I think there's so much interest in this because most of us feel like the software experience has a lot of unrealized potential, both in design and in execution.

Eating my words here because I jumped the gun. The extra information is coming NEXT week, not this week. My bad. 😬
Was that this next week or next week next week, Brian?

I am finally confirming details of the latest global update we rolled out to the Ford owner app, formerly called FordPass. As you all know, you can access free features like remote start, lock and unlock, plus vital vehicle information.

Ford Mustang Mach-E FordPass App is Now the “Ford App” (Version 6.0) Ford-App_Hero_Phones-4

With the update you may have noticed:
  • An upgraded Energy tab to view your state of charge, and set a target charge
  • A new look and feel with new fonts and icons for a cleaner, sleeker look
  • Improved ease of use and quicker navigation within the app to access what you need
  • Messaging and alerts are now prioritized, stacked, and more clearly visible so customers can receive and act on the most important information about their vehicle health.
  • For select vehicles, the team has improved the ease of use to get your vehicle ready before hitting the road to set the preferred cabin temperature, heat/ventilate your seats, or heat your steering wheel.
  • Electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid owners will see an upgraded Energy tab:
    • Charge Slider: Slide your finger along the bar to set your target charge
    • State of Charge: Walk away with confidence while charging, and view your state of charge
    • Multiple Vehicles in the Garage: If you have multiple vehicles in your garage, you can give the vehicle a nickname, and the name will appear here so you know exactly which vehicle you are "filling up"

Here’s what the update means moving forward:
Coming off the ground-up rebuild we rolled out last year, the update continues our apps’ evolution from a nice-to-have feature to a central part of Ford and Lincoln ownership. We want to earn the right to be in our customers’ pocket or bag, and that means being incredibly focused on customer feedback.

As a result of refining our processes on the back-end, we are now able to bring features or quality improvements to users from concept to customers’ hands in a shorter amount of time, which will be key for the future customer app experience.

NOTE
: I (Brian) have provided your feedback from this forum (and other online communities) back to the team that you have shared so far.

Our app team’s goal is to ensure we provide a consistent and excellent experience across a range of Ford and Lincoln vehicles with varying capabilities including different app controls and tools, no matter if it is an all-electric F-150 Lightning or Lincoln Navigator.

With this strong foundation in place, from design to back-end processes, the apps will continue to evolve regardless of which vehicle you have. And we’re just getting started.

Hey 7am is kind of early for me, can we make it noon?
I delayed the post by 50 minutes just for you. Let's run with that.

In another thread, you asked what we would like to see from Ford Comms. I want to hear about these kinds of infrastructure investments.

It’s no secret that Ford, like other 100 year old OEMs, is in the middle of an architectural shift (Software Defined Vehicles, App/Phone control, compute centralization, and so on). Bring your fans along.

In this example, maybe someone from the app Product Team would do a vision and pivot video (here’s where we started, here’s where we want to go, and here are the pivots we have made or need to make).

I know that Ford is in the Valley of Tears right now as first gen product lessons haven’t come to second gen yet. Help us see the path through.
