Pathetic implementation. Give me a button to precondition as I see fit. Don’t hide it behind a paywall. Just dumb.

Sadly Ford has decided that an option to manually precondition is too difficult for us and them 🙄 We have moaned about this since 21, yet they have to listen.
Sorry for ranting, just tired of the way it’s implemented.

Agreed, I'm a '21er and let that connected service lapse, so no preconditioning. I really hope Ford hits it out of the park with their new Platform; as it seems they have just left the Mach E "in it's current state" since they added the heat pump.

Range: still 270 - 305
Body Style: same
Dog/Camp mode: LOL.....
Manual Precondition: "crickets"

Soon, there are going to be lots of competition.
R2 (330-345 miles/charge) awesome UI, active dampers on the performance trim, ect...
($57K for top trim - $53K for mass market trim aka premium

iX3 (400-500 miles / charge) looks like their UI is going to be top notch starting at $60K

And, God forbid if the Chinese ever get it here......oh wait the Polestar 3......But is seems this is the proverbial "scraps" and Geely feels with the level of competition in the US they don't have to offer us their good stuff...

To add to the discussion from a 23 user that recently traded for a 25.

i verified preconditioning using my OBD2 on the 23. What can I look for on my 25 now that Ford has a lockdown on the Carscanner information.

The new Chevy Bolt has a better UI and navigation system than the current Mach E, and it is under 30K. All the GM vehicles also include a manual precondition button, but it is rarely needed. The new Bolt even out charges the standard range Mach E at a fast charger.

Yeah, European vehicles handle the service differently.

For vehicles with Connected Built-In Navigation, yes.

For vehicles with Connected Navigation, the subscription needs to be active.
So 24s and earlier get to use it on the original database only, while 25s and later have to pony up a subscription to use anything involving native nav.

The Bolt is quick, my 2020 is a 6 sec 0-60. But the Mach-e is in a whole other league. We love our bolt for errands, 2nd car, and all of that, but as an owner of each the mach-e is better in every other way except the manual pre-condition button.
