The lease on my 2023 Premium AWD, extended battery was just about up, so I decided to move into a 2025. I looked at other EVs in my price range and the only one that I found interesting was the Equinox (I think it is very visually pleasing). But when I saw that it didn't Phone as a Key, deal breaker! I was able to get exactly the 2025 I wanted (which was tough), mainly no sunroof or other waste-of-$$ options.

In any case, yes, oh, how times have changed. My 2023's MSRP was more than $62K and I got $2.5K in rebates for a 36-month lease of $753/month (I forget the % rate). The 2025's was $52,850 and I received $10K in rebates and dealer discounts, plus a 1.79% lease rate, for a 36-month lease of $546/month. Basically, I paid 1/3 less on a better car.

I went for the 2025 because it is better, IMHO, than the 2026. Plus, there wasn't one color in the 2026 palette that I liked (I went for the Glacier Gray for my 2025).

My hope is that when my 36-month lease is up, Ford will come out with the 2029-ish Mach e refresh.

BTW, the Automatic Lane Change scares the s&%# out of me (I turned it off).
Wow!!! so this is almost exactly the situation that I am in. Same deal 2023 premium looking at a 2025 premium both have extended batteries and I don’t want the glass roof this time. My lease is basically the same cost per month as yours and I’m looking for the same $550 per month that you got. I am curious though to know how many months you had remaining on your 2023 lease. I had four payments remaining when they invited me in and wouldn’t make me a deal. Lester Glenn Ford in.

Lester Glenn Ford in Ocean New Jersey. This would be my third MachE and they don’t wanna make me a deal. Perhaps it was because I have too many months remaining, but I’m not sure what their deal is since they have ten 25s on their lot.

Or a bonus so you don’t have to take all that plastic off to reach the battery.
Careful now, @Ford Motor Company monitors these forums. I can see it now, “Our Ford exclusive Quick 12V Battery and module access option, only $599!”

You know it’s funny… I’m literally at the dealership right now and I was checking out a 2025. I popped the hood. That little frunk is adorable!! Might be able to fit two (medium sized) pizza boxes in there? Thin-crust, obviously. But guess they needed room for the “heat pump” lol.

I took one look at the sticker - $62k - and was like “naw my 21 First Ed is still amazing.”
I also laughed when I first saw the frunk on my 2025 but it's turned out to be really useful. I keep a small bag of cat litter (as a cheap extraction aid in case I get stuck in a Canadian winter), a snow brush, a first aid kit, a bottle of windshield washer fluid, and the portable charger I carry for emergencies. Nothing I need regular access to but when I need them, I need them, and if I have stuff in the trunk it would be a pain to remove it to get under the rear floor. I'm going to 3d print a holder to go in the fits slot to hold my nacs adaptor and then it should be all set.

What model for $62K. The Premium is far less.

Thank you for that encouraging info!

DO you miss the frunk ?

Guess the shifter move might take getting used to - reminds me of my MBZ R350 I had that had that type of shifter....
Yeah, I miss the frunk a little, but the current one is fine.

And I really like the shifter. Feel clean and I don't need to look at the disc to make sure I get D, R, or P.

2023 Job 1 converted to be a Rally look alike - I am now looking at the '25 Rally GT.

Love my current Eibach upgraded lift springs, sway bar, Ford Rally wheels w/ larger RFT running 34PSI and large frunk space.

My co-worker got a '25 but I don't know if I like the shifter moved over from my '23 and no more frunk space...

Should I wait for the '26 later this year ?

I think the 26s aren't worth the extra $$: color, extra for frunk

Have you set profiles? Up to four can be programmed. If I'm driving the system recognizes me then adjusts the profile from my wife to me, even without pressing the profile button.
yes we do, but shift the gear selector difference drives me nuts :)

I had 6 months left. I realize that I ate some $$ on paying off the lease. But I think it will be a net win because I got the exact car I wanted and a huge rebate/discount. If I waited till my lease was up, inventory will be way down meaning I will likely not find the Pony I wanted. Plus, the incentives will be far less because Ford and dealers won't feel as much pressure to offer deep deals. BTW, I went through all the possible scenarios with ChatGPT and it concluded that, given the deal I got, it was a reasonable risk and payoff. I was told that, once inside of 6 months till lease end, Ford may offer "pull-ahead" deals by giving away 2-3 months of the last lease payments. But I didn't want to wait and the difference wasn't going to impact my financial situation in the present or long term.

Did you wind up paying off the full 6 months or partial and they zeroed out last 2-3 months? There’s another local dealer that has the exact color/equipment I want, so I’ll try when I have 3 months remaining. I currently have a 2023 Space White premium and disappointed that color has been discontinued.

The heat pump was key to me because I do a lot of winter driving.
The heat pump is no more efficient than the PTC heater. Ford would've been broadcasting about the range bump if it were more efficient. What it does do, as you've discovered, is provide more heat, more quickly. That's a big plus for a certain segment of the mme owners.
