Hi all, I am going to be replacing the summer Pirelli tires that came on my 22 gtpe and wondering if you guys have any recommendations for all season tires? I’m leaning towards the Michelin Pilot a/s 4. Is that a good tire or do you guys recommend something else?

Many threads on this. Michelin CrossClimate2, Michelin Defender 2, others. A search will reveal them.

Yes. That’s a good high performance tire.

Many threads is an understatement! I am starting to think the search function isn't working for some.

I found that just staring at the screen doesn't make the search work, you have to click on the word, and fill in the little boxes. It's pretty outrageous.

I’ve been pleased with my Hankook ion evo all-seasons about 25k miles in. EV-specific but that’s probably mostly marketing. I obviously didn’t test a bunch of different tires. I’d go with the best price - tread life ratio.

I'm in the same boat as you. My stock Pirellis are done like dinner, and I'm looking for an all-season tire to replace them. I'm much more interested in a better, quieter ride and durability than I am in handling performance. And with all-seasons instead of HP summer tires, I can take them off later in the season, and put them on earlier in the season.

I was certain I'd be getting the Hankook iON EVO, as they seem to be the most commonly well rated tires on here...but outside of one tire site in Quebec that I'm pretty sure is a scam site, there is nary a set to be found in Canada, and they're on backorder with Hankook. Likely 2+ months until I could reasonably expect to get my hands on them. I've basically narrowed it down to these:
  • Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4
  • Pirelli P Zero As Plus 3 (The Pirelli website no longer list 245/45R20 as an option in the ELECT line....so I'm unsure if the ELECT version still available...but there are people on here who have them so they do exist)
  • Continental ExtremeContact DWS06
  • Falken Azenis FK460 A/S Silent Core
  • Yokohama Advan Sport A/S EV (I'd have to go to 255/45 on these...no 245 available)
  • Toyo Proxes Sport AS+
The Goodyear ElectricDrive unfortunately doesn't have a tire that meets the speed rating in the GTPE size, so I had to rule those out...and I've seen more than a few bad reviews of the Bridgestone Turanza EV, so they didn't make the list either.

I’ve spoken to a few tire shops and they are recommending the Michelin pilot as4, Yokohama and Pirelli a/s. I’ll see about the hankooks as well. The Michelins have pretty low tread life warranty, so might sway my decision. Thanks for everyone’s input! I’ve got some research to do.

Depends on what you are looking for out of the tires: Comfort, longevity, handling, wet performance, snow, etc. When I got rid of the Summer Pirellis, I went with Continental DWS06+ tires with 30mm more section width For handling, braking, and moderate wet weather performance. 🤔🐩

My vote after replacing new OEM tires on two Mache’s right after I bought the cars: continental DWS-06+

much quieter great handling including in the wet weather.
Incidentally, I have near brand new summer Pirellis and the AS tires that came on my ‘25 that I should sell if anyone is interested.

I've just changed to Michelin CCS 3 Sport on mine, it's only been a week, but I'm very impressed so far, good grip and wet driving much improved from the OEMs. Will add I had CC2 on my FE, so wanted an upgrade for my GT, plus here in the UK Michelin has a £100 rebate promo which was a bonus too.

I for one have done plenty of searches for A/S tire recommendations but it's always a case of, "yeah I have these and they're good."

Does anyone have objective reviews of tires? I know how tough it is to go from one worn set to another new set and filter out the noise (tire life, protective coatings on the first 500mi, different cars, misremembering subjective qualitative evaluations, etc). But some outlets did side-by-side analyses to evaluate things like dry grip.

I'm leaning towards the DWS06. As much as I wanted the Hankooks, I don't really want to wait 2+ months for them. I've had good experiences with Continental in the past, and my current winter tires for my GTPE are the IceContact Extreme, and they have been great

I switched to CrossClimate II’s last spring. The first thing I noticed was a 7-10% hit to my range, which doesn’t bother me that much. They feel really good in wet and dry, but I was less than impressed with snow/slush/ice feel and handling. In those cases it feels TO ME less sure footed than the OEM Goodyear Assurance tires. The wear does seem to be pretty good.

Yeah, any new tire is going to give you a range hit, as new tires have more rolling resistance than a worn tire. The key will be to see what the range is like later in their lifespan, then you can really compare them.
