And was that the issue for you? Did that give you what you thought you were missing?
I'm looking forward to trying the suggested "fix" (changing display mode, which is reportedly a simple option). Haven't had the chance yet to try it out. The car I purchased off the dealer lot had a small "ding" on the side. Car dealer understood I wanted a flawless body on my new car and agreed to fix it. So this morning I dropped off the car for two days of minuscule body work.

Yes; it did display differently. Analogy would be displaying 16:9 on 4:3 video. But I was informed that I was not using an available "full view" display, which can reportedly be accessed by "tapping on the grid on the lower left."
yeah I saw that reply... I'm not a CarPlay user so I'm not really used to different experiences being possible at all. Will be curious to see if that's it or not.

I believe, waze is supposed to work directly with Sync as one of the supported apps in the app catalog. If you disable carplay, waze is supposed to show up as a app button if you hit the app drawer thing at the top center of the screen. None of this has worked in my car with Android though.

Well, when I get ready for my commute home, I will do a couple of screen shots and post the difference. You can let me know if this was your issue.

Also true, although I use it through CarPlay.

Don't know if you caught this most helpful reply:

<<<<<

I use Waze Daily in the Mach E. It shows my estimated arrival time and miles to destination. Are you using the full view, or the view in CarPlay where you see more than one application? I tend to use the full view. You can change views by tapping on the grid in the lower left.

Yes, the grid choices @jhalkias describes do provide very different screens. That enables additional features but not all the options one normally has in Waze on an iPhone.

sorry I'm trying to get the main point out of this - you're saying that Waze on CarPlay in the Mach-E displays differently than it does in other cars?
I've never used Apple CarPlay in another car, so I don't know how it compares in the Mach E to other cars. However, options and navigation are a bit different from Waze on a stand-alone iPhone.

I also have had the problem of not seeing my ETA time or miles left on waze full view. Sometimes I can not enter my destination. So I have to open the waze app on my phone and hard close the app, which will close the app on the cars screen. I then can open the app on the cars screen and all the information is there. It was been really annoying.

I've rented at least 10 different cars with Car Play. On each of them (last was a Dodge Ram pickup, but I usually get something like a generic full size sedan) ... Waze displayed on the dash the same as on my iPhone. Only on my wondrous Mach-E have I had the issue of the truncated Waze display.

Tolls for certain lanes on the same road? Egad! I've never heard of such barbarity!
Yep. Here in Georgia (Metro Atlanta area) the taxpayers pay for construction of new lanes on the interstates. The that lane is designated a toll lane even though tax payers paid for it. The toll is so high that only the affluent or those that can write it off as business expense can use it. The other day I was going south on I-85. Bumper to bumper moving about 5-10 mph. That toll lane had only a smattering of cars all moving at around 70mph. Ticked me off. My tax money at work for the rich.

The notorious 91 Toll lanes (2 of them) connecting Orange County with the Inland Empire (Riverside & San Bernadino Counties) have time of use tolls. Range from about $4.50 to $31.50; so it's an important decision, if one takes this route often (we drive inland a lot to visit one of our married kids, with grandkids).

Where Waze is often helpful is where traffic flow on the free lanes looks good, but Waze projects a much longer than expected drive time. Not infrequently this conjunction of events is associated with a cheap toll, in the $5 range. I will 100% of the time take the toll lanes, in these cases. On rare occasions, I've even shelled out the $30 toll for situations where I had an important, time sensitive event and a very long projected drive in the "free" lanes.

But there are the intermediate cases ... like a $12 toll to save 25 minutes, when there isn't a time critical arrival time. In these cases, it just depends on how I'm feeling (e.g. whether or not I have to pee, and how badly).

Just curious how did you get the calendar to also display on that screen? Mine only shows music and the next direction. The only difference is that I use spotify for my music. I really like that calendar displayed.
