Like I recommended in post 2, give them a postcard with instructions. This shouldn't be too difficult.

Try out valet mode, it's pretty simple. You push the button, it creates a code which displays on the screen. Tells the person exactly how to use the code.. so many numbers to open the door, so many numbers to start the vehicle. It also goes as a notification in your app in case they forget to write down the number for when you go to get your car back.

A good valet will have no problem.

Wow!! is Ford updating the user manual? That would be cool. As before it did not say anything about the backup unlock or backup start. It would be even better that when they make an update letting us know.

Latest version is 11/18/2020.

Hard to say if they will update it as new ota features come out so it's a but early to speculate on if they will let us know about updates to the manual.

I tried 'valet mode' .... got no numbers on screen, no numbers in the email it DID send me, and it locked the display with 3 'thinking' dots. After about 5 minutes I turned off the car. came back 15 minutes later and it seemed normal, but I dunno what happened to the valet code ?

Definitely not how it is supposed to work. I have accidentally triggered the valet mode several times while trying to scroll through settings (the touch screen is too sensitive in my opinion).
