OK, at 57 days since placing our order, we have a production date and a VIN. Been following this forum since ordering and have accumulated a saved list of links to 4 or 5 tracking tools.

My question is: which one is the best? Fastest and most accurate?

I ran my order number and VIN through them all this morning, and it appears too early, for none of them returned our build date, which I got from my dealer. Which tracker gets the info first?

Over 100 people have read this post, and NOBODY has a favorite?
Does that mean they ALL suck?

The reality is that Ford's vehicle tracking is pretty poor. Dates move around a lot, and once the vehicle is loaded on a train the tracking goes to hell. You'll get a date of say August 30th to the dealer, and then on August 19th they'll call and say they have it.

In May of 2018 we ordered a 2019 Fusion Energi. There were no rebates yet, and we knew the rebates for the 2018s, but could not find the exact one we wanted. Dealership used regional rep to find out more info, and could not. No specific dates, then finally got a date and the vehicle seemed destined for delivery in late September 2018. Still no known rebates. Existing 2018 rebate was just over $11,000... Finally I found a 2018 in Wisconsin, my dealer went and go it, and we bought it. A week later the 2019 came in, and they published the rebates. We would have had a few hundred more as I recall.

The reality is that it doesn’t matter what the tracking tools say. Your car will get to your dealership on the day it gets there regardless of how intently you watch it’s progress.

Thanks, have seen posts with reported problems tracking shipping. Will keep that in mind.

I don't have a VIN (haven't asked for one), but we ordered on 5/29 and the dealer accepted it on 6/9. Ford website shows "Place Order In Progress".

Since we got a cancelled order vehicle on 7/2, I'm in no hurry for this vehicle to be made and delivered. Following your timeline, that would put it at the dealer in September, and I'd rather it be closer to the end of the year, if we're going to accept it.

The various web app tracking tools all pull information from the exact same source, so they should show the same info and update on the same day. Which you use is up to you.

The only way to get a little more info is to ask your dealer for the Vehicle Visibility Report, which only they can generate. It probably doesn't have much more info, but once shipping starts it will have a few more updates in it than others can get.

During shipping, the Palsapp website gives you a tiny bit of info, but it is almost worse than no info because you'll keep refreshing it every day, and it will always show the same unhelpful update. Then one day the car will just show up and the dealer will call you.

At this point I'd settle for a missing chips tracker.

When the dealer receives the vehicle do they need time to prep the car or can you usually go pick up the car the same day? My car shows delivered as yesterday and I'm hoping they give me a call today to come pick up.

Can't speak to this vehicle specifically but usually there are several days of prep needed.

In practice, this isn't always the case. I've seen discrepancies between the two popular third party trackers on this forum and Ford's shop.ford.com tracker. I haven't dug in further to figure out why.

They need to do an inspection, clean/detail the car, and fully charge it before delivery (Ford rules). In my case it went pretty quickly - the car hit my dealership on a Friday afternoon and I was able to make an appointment to pick it up Saturday morning at 9am. If the charger is occupied or their detailer is out then it may take a bit longer, but there isn't a ton of work for them to do.

Wondering why there is a time lag if they pull from the same source. My dealer sent me a screenshot of the order report, showing a production date, but none of the trackers I checked show it yet.

Noted...but we need as much heads-up on the delivery as we can get, to schedule modifications from wheel-makers, ceramic coaters, graphics designers, etc. I've already got my numbers and class plates.
