After 4 months. My first problem with Mustang MME FE. When pressing on and turning up sound on radio. No sound comes out of speakers. Normally. When turning the knob, it shows sound bar but that also is not visible.

Also no sound when phone call is answered in car.

Any suggestions before I take it to the dealer?

Yes ... you'll also likely find you have no audio if you connect your phone and try to use that.

There is an issue with the digital signal processor (DSP) and there is already a software update for it. My guess is it will get put into one of the Power-Up updates.

You can scroll the thread to find the update for the real fix (involves taking the car to the dealer to have the update applied). As I said ... I suspect the update will just get pushed out even without taking it to the dealer but I don't know when that would happen.

I wouldn't count on this happening, Ford has never indicated that all updates will be done remotely. On the contrary, I think OTA updates will mainly focus on SYNC, charging, and BlueCruise updates only. If you have any problems right now, you should take your car into the dealer just like any regular Ford.

@HOFMACHFE You need to tell the dealer to do SSM 49737 on your car. See here: https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...acm-or-dsp-dtc-u1084-u0237-and-or-u0238.5466/

All the modules can be updated via OTA delivery. But the testing to make sure an update is ready for applying (getting production approval) is just the first step... if delivered as an OTA then it requires a repackaging for delivery via that method and more testing. To be safe ... even after testing they only push the OTA's to company-owned cars. Eventually they starting pushing them to consumer cars. So it's a longer wait to show up as an OTA (vs. when the update was approved for production via a local install method.)

Actually the DSP module is not OTA updateable according to the WSM. So it would require an in person dealer update. The ACM (audio control module) is another one that cannot be updated OTA.

All the modules can be updated via OTA delivery.
Again, not true. Most modules can be updated OTA but there are a select few that cannot.

Check out this thread for more information on how OTAs work: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/ota-updates-technical-info.4923/

I think for NOW they won't, but in the future they will start updating every module that is able to be updated OTA.

Similar problem here. Very frustrating. Going back to shop, but they are blaming the 12V battery fault, and no way to get a 12V battery.
