For those of us who are folically challenged and either don't have or never uncover the sun roof it would be great to be able to not have it....may have to settle for a GT;)
I too was worried about this as I am severely folically challenged (and in Texas) and I don’t notice any heat on my head. Very happy with the pano roof.

So I'm looking at the MME and one thing that intrigues me is the glass roof. I had an 83 Camaro that had T-Tops. Loved it. I had a Cavalier with a sunroof - that puppy was never closed. So why all the hate on the pano roof? Is there something I'm missing? Anything that gives me a "top down" feeling gets me excited. All I can think of is people in really hot climates don't care for it due to lack of shade? In Michigan, I try to soak up as much sun as I can! :D Any thoughts? Is the pano roof something I'd like or would I regret it?
Well, after looking through all the replies, not one mentioned my worry about the pano roof. I am in the great white north and am worried about the cold, not the heat. I was forced to order my GTPE with the pano roof because I wanted the 360 camera. My wife’s pano roof in her Edge stays covered by the sun shade in the winter because the glass feels like it radiates the cold if the shade is retracted. I guess we’ll see how all the fancy coatings and tint do when it’s zero degrees out…

I really like the pano glass roof. I just wish it extended forward a few more inches.

I have gotten different information, when I asked the question on this forum. Several people have said that you definitely can tell it's there - they say the entire cabin is brighter, and feels more "open". This was what I found when I test drove, and I found it irritating, along with the sun on my head. I have a sunroof in my car and I keep it closed and covered at all times, because I do not like the interior light while I'm driving during daylight hours.
Far enough. My wife drives an older CR-V with a sunroof and we keep the shade closed all the time because otherwise the sun will cook you. But I truly never notice the pano roof in the MM-E when driving. Even on a sunny day in Texas at 100F outside temp. I respect that our perspectives are different.

I believe, although I can not prove, that the low emissivity coating prevents heat traveling either direction.I would expect that the pano roof won’t be a sign source of heat loss.

This will be an interesting experiment… I have access at work to a drone with an infrared camera on it. I’m gonna crank the AC on a hot day, then get pictures of the car to see where heat is being transferred, then when it gets cold, I’ll repeat the process except with the heat on.

Mine shattered. And it is hot from sunlight. But I still ordered another one on my GT order, and now I use a shade which works well for summer use.

I look forward to see your results!

Below is the normal Pacific Northwest view for rear seat passengers. Water spots not a problem. I wasn’t sure I’d like the panoramic roof, but now I love it.

Seconds before a bloody goat leg lands on the roof.

The panoramic roof from the back seat provides an awesome view of the sky and I love it when I sit back there. I know my granddaughter will like it as well once we remove the shade (I put the shade on fairly quickly after I purchased the car). I don't like the sun beating down on my balding head in the summer so I have the reflective shade on it to block the sun. Come September some time, I'll remove the shade/cover until late May when I'll reinstall it.
