I'm not sure how Ford decides who gets into the early access program.... But fwiw I think they could give it as a perk for those with First Editions (of course this isn't my opinion just because I have a first edition.. it just clearly makes sense!)
I would imagine it is a semi-random process that tries to spread the invitees with lots of driving miles over as large a geographic area as possible, with a broad distribution of road types and traffic densities. They are likely trying to get as much disparate data as possible to ensure that all the corner cases are indeed handled properly and that all their maps are good.

How do you sign up for early access?
They invite you. You can go to the earlyaccess.ford.com website to get on the waiting list; I did and I just got the invite this afternoon.

Yeah, there was the Super Ferry for a bit. Under funded, no round trips possible in a single day from the neighbor islands and very close to a scam on the taxpayers, but that’s just my personal opinion.

Fortunately I ordered the underwater full self driving option for mine. Only $10,000. Due anytime now. :p

Yes you can. ;)
Well maybe. Sure you're "stuck" on a beautiful tropical island, whereas I live within a 2 hour drive of NYC, Philly, and Baltimore.

But, the downside is that I live within 2 hours of NYC, Philly, and Baltimore ?

Hawaii is a beautiful place. I’ve been to Oahu, Maui, and the big island, and loved them all. That said, there’s no way in hell I’d want to live there. There’s not enough space.

I've spent the vast majority of the last 16 months sitting in my home office, with short day trips to the NJ shore and a couple trips to 2 of the aforementioned cities. But most of that time looking at my monitors and the trees in my back yard. I'd happily give up being within 2 hours of 20 million people to live on the side of a volcano overlooking one of the most beautiful places in the world.

I'm sure being rich and sleeping with a supermodel gets old after a while too, but I am willing to give it a try!

People can get island fever. It’ll drive them nuts. Sometimes literally.

I have both the time and means to head off to the mainland should I so desire. Oh and the big city! Hilo is a 1 hour drive @timbop! Think of the nightlife!???????

Is Ford delivering that via OTW? (Over The Water) ???

I went to Guam for Christmas once (I was trying to find a way to spend a lot of time in an airplane - I’m … strange) it’s incredibly beautiful. I could easily spend a month on Guam, wandering around, hiking, checking out beaches, etc. After that, I’d be begging to be put on the next flight back to Tokyo!

I got the email and am enrolled. Will be interesting to compare Blue Cruise with my Tesla's autopilot on the same highways. I am sure there will be both pros and cons for each, excited to see the use of the infrared camera with actual no hands on steering wheel. I refuse to cheat the Tesla system with weights, so I have to keep limited pressure on the steering wheel or go into Autopilot jail.
I’m pretty sure Fords Copilot 360 is comparable to Tesla’s auto pilot while blue cruise is more comparable to FSD.

I'm hoping the lane keep is more precise; I drove for the two two months with land centering on, but finally had to turn if off because it would make very jerky corrections on well marked roads. I had to constantly keep my hands tightly on the wheel to try dampening the jerking, which was more exhausting than just using lane keep alone.
I don’t have any problems with jerky corrections. I’ve been impressed with how smooth it’s corrections are. My only concern is that it tends to keep to close to the center line on Interstate Highways which is too close to semi trucks when passing beside them.

Probably close-ish, but from what I've seen in hundreds of wasted hours of my life in watching YouTube videos, it looks like Copilot 360 gives up on curves that Tesla's AutoPilot will take, and BlueCruise will only work on pre-mapped sections of road, but FSD will supposedly work "anywhere" and handle stop signs, traffic lights, etc. How well it does any of that is definitely up to debate, but the core functionalities are probably better on the Tesla while also being riskier to use in their intended forms. Tradeoffs.
