I washed my Star White Premium RWD Mach-E with 1100 miles on it (for 3 weeks' ownership) and the paint peeled on the left side of the bumper as I was removing dried insect remains. But I did notice earlier on some paint peeling just under the left headlight cluster, but I didn't mind this as it isn't usually visible. Then I saw another 'dot' just below the trim on the driver's side front door. All these pointing to paint quality issues. Took the car to the nearest dealership and was told uneven paint application on the side where peeling is evident. Ford took less than an hour to reject the claim saying it must have been hit by an external object, though the local Ford guys noted the plastic is smooth. Was advised to call customer care and I did, and 5 minutes into the call was told they don't have any known paint issues (!!!). Adamantly told the agent there is and was promised a call by a specialist. Specialist called a few hours later and I was told per their investigation they can't cover it because they believe an external object hit the damaged area, yet couldn't answer if they indeed asked the person who actually saw the car if this is the case. Planning to visit 2 different Ford body shops and have them file warranty claims. Let's see where this will go...

I can maybe see how they'd try to get out of the chunk in the middle, still it doesn't look right, but the section by headlights? There's no way that's not botched paint job, I'd focus on that, see if there's any other panel edges on that bumper that are similar.

I noticed some similar spots at the edge of my headlights a few days ago. Was going to take a closer look after I have time to wash it to make sure it wasn't just bugs, but from quick glance, it looked like paint peeling.

Hi there, Fred! This definitely doesn’t sound like the experience we want you to be having with your Mach E– If you'd like to, go ahead and send a message to us with your VIN and approximate mileage. I’d be happy to look into this for you. Thanks!

The paint issue by the headlamps appear as they may have scratched/rubbed the fresh paint while installing the headlamps.. wasn't cured fully?

I see that one of your social media specialists contacted me privately here per your insructions, got my info but never bothered to email or call me and was told that I already was in contact with one. Well, duh, it's in my posting for crying out loud. I guess this IS really the kind of experience I am getting with my brand new Mach-E.

It doesn't help with the white paint on the black bumper shell. I had a similar road rash on my Etron from a flying carboard box at highway speed! Never saw it till after. Th paint shattered at the impact point. Fortunately my Etron is a dark blue with black back shell so I just waited till I had some body work to be done and had them touch it up.

Remind me never to buy White again.... :)

Relax just for a moment. @Ford Motor Company is a different group of people than those you talked to before hand. They can help get things straightened out and help get information to the proper people. They did a good job by me in my one issue.

I'm happy that they did good by you. I just don't appreciate being given the run-around without any clarity as to how they plan to resolve the issue. As it stands now, I'm supposed to work with a service advisor, who was already told by Ford Claims that they won't cover it. I will wait for Ford to do good by me as even with this issue, I still talk positively about the product with my friends.

yep. this is my first white car. love the color actually although I can say I've turned into an OCD after 3 weeks of ownership. The metallic white and light gray seats do make the car feel so upscale.

That's what I'm thinking. This isn't Tesla harhar. But then again, I see Ford Bronco paint issues reported elsewhere...
