And perhaps a different road handling set up has seen in a video shot in UK because they use summer tire instead of all seasons for one thing. But this is only a software difference, not a real big thing.
Comparing specs there are differences in headlights. I'm sure there are differences in some safety features, yada, yada, yada.

Got this...looks like the first batch cut off will be Aug 31st. That was for a Premium reservation.
Interesting. Although not terribly surprising, it does confirm two things:
- That they do intend to have at least some Premium production in 2020 (otherwise they could give Premiums more time to convert before setting batch priorities); and
- That earlier reservation date stamp may give priority within batches, but there is still value to converting early and being in the earlier batches. [Although this somewhat also indicates that, at least for a Premium, it may not matter if you convert July 5 or August 29... all those may be part of sequencing for the "priority Premium batch", which I assume will then be sequenced by reservation date stamp.]

Perhaps for premium, but my email today has:
John, it’s time to confirm your order. Confirm by August 1st to ensure you keep your First Edition reservation.
Don’t hesitate, you’re so close to experiencing the thrills of the Mustang Mach‍-‍E.
Given the date difference, it does make it sound less likely some premiums will be mixed in with the FE batches. (except possibly dealer units).

BTW: Haven't heard from my dealer yet. Unless a test drive unit becomes available I'll probably not confirm and wait to order.

That follows as was already understood, that most if not all premiums in the US should be ready for 2020 if they convert early enough.

Note, it doesn't say he has to convert by that date, only that he has to do it by then to be prioritized... However, for the FE it must be converted almost a month earlier by August 1st, or the reservation can be lost...

Good clues in the date differences. I got the same email, with the 8/31 date for my Premium reservation.

8/1 for FE and 8/31 for Premium does indeed suggest FEs will likely be the first batch (or at least heavily weighted that way). More interesting is the time gap. Suggests roughly 4 weeks of production to make the FEs.

Although there's still the EU vs NA batching to complicate estimates for how many, and thus what the production rate may be.

My guess, I'd say no.

But I think you've got a shot at your vehicle being made in 2020, then delivered in January. It'll take time to ramp up to full speed. Even at a peak rate of say 1,200 to 1,500 units a week it would be closer to the end of the year for your vehicle to be built based on what your time stamp must be. I'm guessing they have about 10 months to make about 50,000 customer units. So about 5,000 a month (totally guessing).

Late October to start production kind of lines up with what I've been told for mid-late Nov for first US deliveries. If it takes about 30 days from production to delivery.
You are assuming ford will start with order 1 and work up from their. Or will they start with say x thousands silver premiums with black interior to be able to product more and therefore sell more in quarter 4. This has been Tesla’s delivery model

Ford has stated they are not going to follow Tesla's deliver model, and that reservation number matters (at least within a region and model order, ie: premiums will be before select, etc...) I am sure there might be some logistics shifting, but should be at most weeks, not the many months extra some Tesla customers received their vehicles out of order.

Most auto manufacturers, including Ford, do not batch like that. If you look at any major production line, you will see vehicles of different colors sequenced in and coming out at the same time.

Where do we this side of the pond fit in. When we eventually get to confirm our orders, do we slot in between you guys or are we getting treated differently and have a whole system to ourselves?
There's only 1 production line, so you'll be interleaved in some fashion with NA orders. Nobody here knows specifically how the scheduling will be done, but @hybrid2bev and @ChasingCoral are on the most logical/informed track. Clearly the scheduling will be done in batches of some size, and as stated within the batches the reservation's time stamp (and probably trim) have priority. I suspect that the first batches are NA only, but whether they intend to make the subsequent batches exclusive to a market is unknown. Either specific batches per market OR interleaving NA/Europe orders within scheduled batches makes sense for different reasons. Since scheduling ships, ports, etc is part of the European scheduling, I would personally do UK orders in a batch to be stuck on a ship, then a NA batch, and then another European batch, etc. I have no idea how Ford would do it.

As @hybrid2bev said we will know more by the end of August, and a lot more when European orders are created and scheduled. Ford could tell us a little more, but there is a lot they don't know right now either - so unfortunately you'll either have to be patient or move on.

reservation number matters
Ford has said repeatedly (as well as @hybrid2bev) that the NUMBER doesn't matter, it is the TIME at which the reservation was made. I know for a fact my reservation number is lower than some others whose order was placed before mine, and I reserved a Select

Yes but I believe when people are saying "reservation matters" its to convey that the order of when the person placed the reservation has some significance. You can nik pick on the reservation number vs timestamp...but since we don't have the timestamp and reservation is associated with our orders, that is what we refer to in our conversations. I am 139xx and wont be offended if someone in the 14xxx range get their before mine. BUT I would fully expect me getting my MME before someone in the 20xxx range ordering the same trim.

I think there is value in being accurate in this forum, so that people new don't get mislead. That being said, the general idea that @jlauro is trying to convey is true.

I agree with @mamejunkie that reservation number is a good enough approximation of reservation timestamp. You don't have direct access to your reservation timestamp. But the sender timestamp of the reservation confirmation email should be close enough. However, talking about reservation timestamp is just too much hassle, and I don't see us replacing order number with reservation timestamp in the https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/submitted-orders-tracking-list-enter-yours.924 thread

Agreed. Production scheduling depends on reservation timestamp but reservation number is a reasonable proxy for our purposes.
