Finance Amount Too Low? Can't Complete Online Purchase.

I've searched but haven't seen this anywhere else. I'm trying to complete the online ordering, and I put in that I wanted Ford Credit for a purchase with a down payment of $35,000. It gives me a green check, and I moved through the rest of the cart options like accessories, taxes & fees, etc. Then, at the end, I get an error that I can't use Ford Credit financing because my "finance amount is too low" and then it flipped to "cash." Financing another $25,000 is too low?

Has anyone else seen this behavior? I have a feeling I'm just going to end up at the dealer today doing it all there, but I'd rather pre-prep all the paperwork up front. Thoughts?

Are you trying to use Ford Options? That has a maximum down payment allowed. If you're trying to use straight financing, I have no explanation.

I didn't have the option to complete anything online, but from what others have reported, most dealers just redo all the paperwork when you pick up the car, so I'm not sure it really saves time anyway.

I went round and round with my dealer. In the end I finance the entire purchase amount and paid it off within days. I wanted to charge my credit or debit card and just have them send me the title. Even had to show them proof of insurance.

The site itself might be acting a fool. I was trying to build one so I could see the current APR offered on a GTPE and it refuses to let me go through to the Order button and doesn't show any Ford Options/Finance/Lease info.

Based on the post regarding model year changeover I don't think you can place an order right now. Ordering for 21s ended last week and 22s don't start till the end of the month.

I did it just because I needed a little more time to get the money together. Then I paid it off before the first payment was due!

Do you have any details about it? I will face the financial questions in a couple of months (hopefully, if lucky) but I don't see any information on incentives (I know they existed at some point). Going thru the ordering process only gives cash price.

When I bought my car in May I used standard ford financing but I completed all that at the dealer, not online, I financed $30k for 48 mos at 0.9%

Depending on your ZIP code there is either $1k or $2,500 bonus cash from Ford if you finance with Options. The current incentives expire 10/4. Seems likely the incentives will be renewed for Q4 but there is no guarantee.

curious are you trying for a longer term like 72 months or something? That could perhaps be an issue.

Nope, was 48. Dealer got me the Ford loan I couldn’t put through online, so… ?‍
